Tidal Barracuda Pog I am a firm believer in the Flash Fish in decks that cant run white for silence effects. Its obviously not neatly as cost effective but the ability is so powerful, especially off color, its always worth considering imo

gotta love the brothers Roger and Silas, I played mine tonight and cast a ad naus turn 2 but unfortunately it turned into a sad naus lol I didn't get any 0 cost rocks or tutors to get my combo piece so I went down to 3 life and lost. still one of my favorite decks. ❤💙🖤

With the Sevinne's Reclamation at 9:45, since it was flashed back, wouldn't a copy go on the stack that could have also targeted Breach? Though I suppose it's a moot point as the Mindbreak Trap could just exile both of them.

The copy of Sevinne's flashback only happens on resolution, that's why he has to choose the target for the normal return to battlefield but not for the copy. So if the Sevinne's gets countered neither of the return to the battlefield will happen.

@ Are you sure about that? It says "If this spell was cast from a graveyard, you may copy this spell...." So wouldn't it check on cast to copy it? I can't think of an instance where a copy is made only on resolution of the original.

@@zstormw Consider the differences between Sevinne's Reclamation and storm cards. Storm and other effects that create copies on the stack do so as a cast trigger. Sev Rec is more like Narset's reversal and other spell copying effects, except the spell being copied is itself. If you check the rulings for Sev Rec, you will also find that "if the target card is an illegal target by the time Sevinne's Reclamation tries to resolve, the spell doesn't resolve. You won't copy it if you cast it from a graveyard." Creating the copy depends on the original resolving in both cases. I think this is a common enough issue that it's surprising no ruling exists for this card in relation to counter magic.

Yep, we are sure. The copying isn't a triggered ability, unlike something like storm. It's part of the resolution text. So if the spell gets countered, the text on the card doesn't happen, unless it's a triggered ability on the card itself.

Actually, the table didn’t miss the grasp interaction. Copy artifact did not “cast” the one ring. So he did not have protection. *EDIT* ive been told I’m wrong. Copy artifact changes to the card as it’s cast? So Max is casting the one ring I guess?

I am very unsure about this due to the rulings. “If you cast it” *it* usually refers to the card itself so I don’t se why it wouldn’t work, but at the same time I see your point.

This is the ruling on Phyrexian Metamorph etbs: Any enters-the-battlefield abilities of the copied permanent will trigger when Phyrexian Metamorph enters the battlefield. Any "as [this] enters the battlefield" or "[this] enters the battlefield with" abilities of the chosen permanent will also work.

Copy Artifact enters the battlefield as The One Ring, so it will check if it was cast and trigger accordingly. The fact that it was another card when it was cast only matters for cast triggers, not ETB triggers. Mike does get the protection.

Spellskite can only redirect to himself if he is a valid target. The chosen mode was "counter target blue spell", since spellskite isnt a spell on the stack he isnt a valid target. And even if the chosen mode was "destroy target blue creature", spellskite is not blue (even having a blue actived ability), so it is not a valid target either.

@@pankungzs.6092 there's another comment explaining it, but Kinnan was being targetted by Red Elemental blast, which can only target blue permanents or spells. spellskite would not be a legal target for REB, so it cannot change the target

Yup, this is the era we are in. No one respects Rhystic, the One Ring is everywhere, and nothing important resolves leading to midrange grind frsts. Just respect the damn Rhystic Study and stop giving each other 20 cards a turn.

Disagree. The early rhystic would have forced the undeveloped players to play on a much slower pace that would have kept them out of the game and they did pay for it when trying to assure certain cards would resolve (combos and removal) it just happened that the players with answers had it already.

@@thetimebinder But you can never guarantee it. It's likely, but it's not 100 percent and there's no way of knowing unless you go for it. If you think you have enough extenders or ways masking the fragility of your combo then you go for it.

I don't think Alana could cast the cabal ritual because the stack was empty and passed back to her, which means windfall resolves without getting a chance to add anything else at that point.

I'm pretty sure since other had responded to her original spell she gets priority again. If no one had responded then she would not.

Since others had cast spells, when windfall is back to being on the stack, Alana gets priority first in case there's anymore interaction for windfall. In that window of priority she can cast Cabal Ritual. If she didn't cast anything else then she wouldn't have been able to cast another spell until windfall resolves or until someone else puts another spell or ability on the stack

The One Ring only gives protecting when you cast it. Mike copied it with Copy Artifact, so the cast trigger never occurred. The Praetor's Grasp is legal.

It's an enter-the-battlefield trigger. Since Copy Artifact enters as a copy of TOR, and Copy Artifact was cast, it gives you Protection for a turn.

@nodekapunk as a person in the queer community, seeing something as simple as people having their pronouns visible can make a immense difference. its something that let's us be a bit more comfortable in the spaces we frequent and a sign we can engage I thr communities without being hated upon. I understand that it might not seem like a big deal to you, but for some of us, even such a simple thing can mean a lot
