T'au Nick has brought in unusual reinforcements to the planet Tama'rah after his battle with the Adeptus Mechanicus on their sky base. With both forces taking heavy losses Nick looks to change his tactic up as he enters the fray with eyes on the prize.
Space Marine Steve is the only returning player from Season 1 Championships and looks for redemption. He is bringing a very aggressive Black Templars list that is built to control the board and get into the opponent very quickly.

@@Genun Instead of the old "If within half range: roll two dice for damage and choose the higher result" they are changing it to "if within half range: deal a minimum of X damage". This makes meltas a lot less swingy! However they have only been updated in the new Codices, so the old ones won't get the change until they receive their codex.

@@jacobguillerey4476 Pretty much space marines will always be the best. They get the most models, they have the most constant releases, and they will always be favored. Xenos are always going to eat it to space marines typically, as anything that can keep up with space marines, the general pattern has been that people will complain, then Xenos will be nerfed somehow. Xenos also getting really bad model releases. Most of the Eldar range hasn’t been updated in 15 years. The Tau vehicles are the same models they were 15 years ago as well. Tau are not updated properly to fit this, and they removed what made Crisis suits super mobile, or made Riptides broken which caused everyone to shit on Tau, and their playstyle of constant movement, and since this new edition is based on holding objectives, it nullifies most advantages that they had before. It’s just a looooot of factors that I’d recommend you look into yourself if you want more of a story on what’s going wrong with Tau and subsequently other Xenos. We’re always going to be secondary to space marines. It’s just frustrating

I did a 500 point game between me and a friend not too long ago, Primaris Dark Angels vs Chaos Khorne forces. If we had used a bigger battlefield than the 30"x44" battlefield, he would have been absolutely wrecked by my shooting units, but because his guys were able to get into melee, it was a much closer matchup than we all thought it would be. Ultimately he tabled me, but the battle came down to his warlord with one wound remaining as the only model on the table.

Awesome battle report. I really liked Nick's army, I was considering putting kroot hounds back in my army for 9th. Even with a 50% price increase from 8th edition its still only 24 points for a small unit. Love the krootox conversion, I'm working on my own using AoS models for the mounts. Think the Tau had a nice mobile force but they should have deepstriked the crisis suits. After the Marine vehicles are gone they are a bit slow so the Tau would have been able to pick their fights instead of putting nearly all their force in their deployment zone giving the marine force the opportunity to pin them in. Hope to see more of Nick's Tau on the channel going forward.

I just love aggressive army lists. Pressure from the first turn, stakes are high and clear. You go all in to overwhelm the opponent, and the opponent has to go all in to survive. Even if the opponent manages to withstand the initiatial pressure, it might be just too late. And one mistake can cost you the game. Upd: also, nice use of phobos dudes there. Didn't really think they can be used for aggressive board control, thought of them more like about deep strike denial/tougher scouts for early scoring. There is definitely something to take notes about.

Nick, your Vespids are some of the coolest conversions I've ever seen! They give me ODST from Halo vibes. Also, Steve I love all the chains you put on your Black Templars. It's such a cool aesthetic. Makes me want to try that with my chaos marines at some point.

I got that new battleforce tau boxset and most of my gifts are gonna be tau stuff so I’m very excited to say the day “the Tau craze is real!!” Very big fan to see both these 2 guys duke it out!! it was hilarious to see the tau’nar get knocked off the table by the beard dude that apocalypse match, and he felt very bad about it, you could tell!! hope to see him get another chance to shine while you guys dish out some more reports!! Really feeling a big tau vs anything craze right now, but equally would be excited to see new space marine units like the bunker or the turret or New gladiator tank in action!! my brother really wants to see some new necron reports but Seeing these 2 armies is a really exciting matchup to me personally, I’ve seen enough Eldar and imperial gaurd or most other Xenos armies, would be nice to see anything that’s been updated with its new book shine, like some death company blood angels or some death gaurd nurgle “after the new codex”, i currently play Admech and 1 of each of the their newer units, but i am going Tau mode in 2021 for the first time!! Nick is a true Tau player and the other guys have great attitudes even when losing!! Couldn’t be more pumped to see new 40k 9 edition reports!! We all are craving 9th edition battles!!!!! Great job!!!! 👍

Nick needs to start bringing more competitive lists into the fray. It's always cool (and smart) to bring Farsight Enclave into the mix for that extra kick for melee in case one needs it but Tau are built for the shooting phase and utilizing guerilla tactics. Also, someone needs to stick a sticky note on his forehead to remind him of hid marker lights and scrambler deployment. He almosy always forgets 'em at least once each match. All in all though Nick has am infectiously positive attitude and is a great sport. Watching him play is a pleasure
