Minigun, twin-rocket rocket launchers, a grenade launcher, 6 swords, the swords being 2 katana, 2 claymore, a hand-and-half sword and a slightly longer wakizashi, around 5 sniper rifles, and an entire suit of body armor designed like a Star Wars Mandalorian armor(Boba and Jango Fett wore Mandalorian armor) that has sheaths, straps, and TONS of connection points, that has been custom-modified to have pistons and heavy-duty shock absorbers to handle all the weight behind it. Only I hide all that stuff under my bed, with tons of Lego: Bionicle figures all over them. I don't do Pinatas...

What I really, really like about this animation is that although Soldier 76's face is almost entirely covered, the very subtle movements of his eyebrows still hint at his expression. It's most obvious when he's standing on the rooftop at the end, but you can also really see the difference between when he starts chasing after the thugs before they throw the grenade, and the last shot of him right before the grenade blows up.

3:50 Looking at this part from a literature story telling point. Its important that in this part it shows that Soldier 76 is clouded in his ruthless vigilante. He beats up a enemy even tho he pleads him to stop. The truck comes in and guy throws a explosive which was intended for 76 but ends up bouncing over to Alejandra. 76 makes a split second decision he hesitates as he looks back at the girl and the enemy that's about to run away. Then he chooses to save Alejandra remembering that he was a hero and that he saved lives before. Its why he said "old habits die hard" because it was overwatch's leader it was a habit to save lives and protect the innocent to minimize damage.

Honestly out of all the animated shorts out there from the YEARS this game has been out; This one is still my personal favorite. A Soldier trying to make his way into the world once Overwatch was separated & yet he was once called a hero but, not anymore. He is just a simple man helping out the innocent

I love how much we get to see about the main character when he says so few words. You can tell how much he's changed, how cynical and jaded he's become, and how there's still that old hero in there somewhere, battered and scarred, but still not defeated. One of the biggest examples of missed potential was not creating a campaign mode. With all the lore they made for the OW1 characters, I'd have loved to see all their stories reach a conclusion, especially with Jack and Gabriel.

A note I love that really sells 76 as menacing in this short is more often than not instead of speaking to express emotion he lets out grunts that coupled with his face being mostly covered gives off the impression of a wild animal or monster instead of some dude in his sixties at this point.

Yep. He's definitly a blend of Steve Rogers (he's an american made super soldier), Batman (because he apparently plays mind games with his prey, picking them off strategically in the shadows one by one until they are terrified enough to take them out all at once) and the Punisher (because guns and no problem with killing, obviously).

I like how they left his eyebrows visible to show that he's still human. Because the visor and mask make it difficult to read his face and make him look cold but the slight raise and twist of brows allow him to at least show some emotions.
