Hands down, u are the best breath of fresh air!! Love your thoughts and grateful you share... I'm learning from YOU. and enjoying every second. Agree regarding children. Having raised my son here in Vancouver, as a single Mom, it was brutttttttal! So many stories of feeling ashamed and afraid while raising him. Can't wait to come down to Mexico. A little scared shitless; leaving a good paying job and a beautiful house and area... But, Canada is lost and I've stuck around long enough hoping it would change. now I know I have to Change. 🙂

I feel you - it took me years of having one foot out the door in canada to make the leap. There is a lot of programming that I had to overcome like the "free health care" narrative. I have received better care outside of canada and for a better price since. But that "you;ll lose your health care" scare kept me in the relationship for a long time

Being married to a Mexican has really taught me to slow down and enjoy life. And I've been to more funerals here than I ever had in the states. They just get them in the ground or cremated and on about their day. (Sadness of course, but quite different than what I was used to). The face mask thing reminded me of a time I flew to the states years ago and the guy at security took my nail clippers out of my little bag and I thought, 'oh geez, I really don't want to have to buy another'- he proceeds to take the file part of said cutters and bends it back and forth til it breaks off, hands the clippers back to me with a big grin on his face. And yes, the poorest of people here have some amazing stories to tell and a completely different kind of intelligence. Glad you brought that to the light.

i have had people in canada (even parents) scream at me becuase I was not hovering around my kid and had the AUDACITY to think that I might get "SPECIAL" treatment (like being able to go to the front of the line with a 7 month old) becuase I was the selfish one who had a kid. Canada has the lowest birthrate in the "modern" world as a result of how terribly they treat children. I feel for anyone trying to parent there.

Can you explain the risks of open toes on a plane? I’m a kiwi and often walk around with bare feet. We will go to the supermarket with no shoes! It’s normal here but my American friend also is shocked by this. Enjoyed your video. Kia kaha from NZ.
@TravelMamaAnnaVon3 жыл бұрын
a plane is not the super market. We are not made to fly 30,000 ft. in the air. so when we go up there, our immune systems are already low - which means anyone with a cold on the plane can pass it (does not matter about masks - in fact, covering your mouth and nose on a plane will only make you more open to any virus floating around) so you cover your toes becuase it's cold. It's cold and you are high up and not moving around sitting in a virus. This has always been plane travel - covid has not changed it one bit and neither has hand sanitizer. Anyone who is a life long flyer does not have their open ass feet on a plane. keep your neck and head warm and your hands and feet. this is just some basic ass common sense shit from growing up. don't drink alcohol, and try to eat as healthy as you can. when you land in your destination - take AT LEAST 24 hours to do nothing, drink tons of water, sleep lots and acclimate. People get sick on vacation cause they dress poorly on the plane, then truck down all kinds of crap to their destination, immediately bake in the sun and get drunk all day then blame the food or water on their sickness. It's massive shock to the system to do that and my feelings are "you deserve a little protest from your body if you treat it that way." but open toes - not the look on a plane - i really should make a video about it

You are right on on the Mexican attitude on having children, Canada and US can learn something from Mexico though they might think that Mexico has nothing to teach them.
@mstyles26673 жыл бұрын
I think the issue most stems from the fact children in the US are not the most well behaved as the parenting in the US leaves much to be desired. I don't care where you are from, NO ONE wants ill behaved children around who's parents are too busy on their phones to actually parent. Back in the day kids were welcomed everywhere in the US and people loved having kids around, this was back when people actually parented their children. Mexican's parent their kids, makes for a totally different world and totally different children.
@TravelMamaAnnaVon3 жыл бұрын
there's no space for children so they act out - what came first? the shitty parents or people treating parents shitty? hard to tell - but kids in canada are assholes. and I don't want one and I know I am a product of that place, so I just try to be teachable here and it works

I have trouble dealing with both california norms and tijuana as im from nyc area. For instance you can't honk horn at cars in California. It leads to gang signs being thrown. And the border to walk into San Diego due to covid, border restrictions, on foot, instead of usual 35 minutes it's 3 to 4 hours. And it would only be 1 hr but there's tons of line cutting and. Nobody says anything about it. Not only that, I they don't even get angry. In nyc if you cut a line and got shot for it, the people would say, well they shouldn't of cut a line

Oaxaca is definitely not plastic free. And neither is it ruthless. Not sure where that mumbo jumbo came from. My kids (6 of the 9) are 1/2 indigenous Their father is full Mixtepec from Santa Maria Texcatitlan Oax. But you're right on the money with their passion for real ingredients, fresh and clean produce, fiesta of flavors, family first and very caring about their offspring even if they dont choose to be a constant in their everyday life. Definitely the lax parenting styles gets them (parents) in trouble with CPS here in the US. Mexican men love more deeply, most of them, not all but a large majority, as many are raised to control and abuse, but you find that in white men/US too.

She's a anti masker they do that
@TravelMamaAnnaVon3 жыл бұрын
i am saying that if you don't wear socks on a plane, then you are upping your chances of getting sick becuase you are not helping your immune system. which is also lowered on a plane becuase of altitude. the mask doesn't do anything to protect you on a plane unless you are sneezing a lot and not covering your face whne you do it. we all touch the same surfaces - the best defense for getting a cold on a flight, is to keep warm - feet hands and neck/head, drink lots of water and eat as healthy as you can. and wash your hands with SOAP AND WATER. all the rest is just smoke and mirrors. What I was saying to those two is that they don't actually care about protecting themselves on a flight. No seasoned flyer would go barefoot if they wanted to avoid getting sick.
@TravelMamaAnnaVon3 жыл бұрын
and I am not an anti-masker. I make choices for my health and I assume everyone else is doing the same. I don't care if other people wear masks. I wouldn't tell someone to wear one or not. it's their choice. I just don't wear one. but not anti-=them. i wouldn't care if people didn't wear any clothes or hazmat suits. i barely notice what other people are doing.
