I have a ps3 controller that wont turn on anymore. I open it to clean it, since it was pressing random buttons. But I did a mistake. I applied a 99,8% alchool to clean everything. And I applied a good amount of it inside the left analog stick and i didnt let it dry properly and plugged it to charge. The controller does not turn on anymore, but the red light still lights but the home button and anything else doesn't works anymore. I just opened it recently and found some alcholl remains around between the plastic circuit and the board. I didnt wiped it properly before mounting it back. Can i fix this mess? Or I just lost my controller forever? What should I do? Its been so hard to find a good original controller. Im blaming myself forever.

First, don't beat yourself up too much. We all make mistakes, even me, but sometimes you have to make mistakes to learn from them sadly What I would do is take it apart again and let the air get to it for a couple of days to make sure it's dry Check the components with a multimeter or just make sure it's 100% dry and try again or go on Facebook marketplace. You have people on there who do repairs that might help hope this helps hope you sort it 😃

Hahahah i just did what u said, but the controller didn't respond. I ended just bying a fake one to acess the menus a bought a gamesir one to play. I still wont give up on him. I have other questions though. I am restoring my ps3. I just opened it to change the thermal paste and found that the old paste was like a rock. It was inpossible to remove it completly. I just rubbed it a lot with alcoohol and a cloth. But i couldnt remove it completly. I just rubbed it so much that the surface took some kind of a "polished" view in the metal. Does that can compromise the thermal contact of the processor wirh the heat sink in some kind of way? Another question: i found some points of corrosion in the metal plates just where the air goes out. How can i romove it? Theres just some points in the copper around the board too. I like to watch good at what they do persons. And you are the best in this. I trust ur words!
