Technically sega is on the market they have sonic on my Xbox store . That's sonic old school in 2018 still cranking revenue . Technically also during th r 360 era they released a game with sega genesis games 4 of the 80 games or 40 games it had in the one disc were sonic games needless to mention it was a seg a genesis game on the 360 . For the PS3, you forgot to mention 2 issues: 1. The Yellow Light Of Death was also an issue, but was over shadowed by the RROD on the XBOX because the it wasn't nearly as common or popular. 2. The constant updates on the PS3 were annoying as hell.

This was probably the most balanced generation. Each console was a financial success, each console had its own set of new abilities, each console had its time in the spotlight, and each console has been relevant for a long time. Not to mention the backwards compatibility of the 7th gen was unparalleled for its time. They were targeted at different audiences yet could entertain all of them, which is probably why the gaming population exploded. It was essentially the 6th gen but with more power, perks, and success.

For me the Wii wins: Virtual Console: A huge library of the very best Nintendo games from each generation. Also a lot of retro 3rd party support. Mario Galaxy and the best version of Resident Evil 4 by far. GameCube backwards compatibility The 360 is a close 2nd for being the True ‘Dreamcast 2’: Stylish, Affordable, great RAREWARE games, Good 3rd Party Support, great controller. For me the PS3 was just too expensive & didn’t offer much different than what the 360 already did (Apart from more advanced specs). The Blu Ray was just too ahead of its time to be the same kind of attraction the DVD player had with the PS2 and it still hasn’t *really* taken off.

Wii wins in creative/super fun game selection, backwards compatibility + Wii shop, motion controls with rumble sound, advertisement sales, being the most innovative console ever, and the Wii home menu had several channels for countless entertainment like Netflix and Mii Channel. We all know it was lacking in power, but it must have amazing detail processing, because I think it looks a lot better than Gamecube. Not purely graphic-wise, but everything is more detailed on the Wii, less glitching unlike the Gamecube which could barely handle its own power, and it did great with massive world maps. Just look at Galaxy series, De blob series, and the Zelda titles. That was a lot of data to process in a realistic space.

My Xbox 360 is a "refurbished" second-hander from Gamestop. By that, I mean they didn't refurbish a damn thing about it. It was all dusty inside, the disc drive almost wouldn't open because the belt was so slippery, and I'm surprised it still runs with how little thermal paste there was on the processor dies, let alone that it hasn't red ringed. Though it was produced in late 2009, so that may not have been an issue at that point. Though I suppose I feel good knowing that I own all 3 gen 7 consoles.

Three home consoles and two handhelds, all of which were huge successes (though only the DS compared to the PS2). The eighth generation tried to pretty much follow this model exactly, but the Wii U and Vita flopped...

Yeah, it's barley anymore powerful than the GameCube. About twice as powerful as the GameCube to be exact. But believe me, games like Super Mario Galaxy look absolutely amazing with component cables, and with that, the Wii's graphical performance won't stop you from your enjoying the experience.

Wii = exclusives - very unique games that haven’t really been iterated on like the other consoles, so they’ve probably aged the best as well. It also has what I consider to be the best game of that generation, super Mario galaxy 2 - and arguably the best game ever made. Ps3 - free online with more features than wii online. Exclusives good too, though they weren’t anything special until later on. 360 - great online service and an incredible wealth of features. Exclusives were also good, though contrary to the ps3, the best exclusives came out earlier on and kind of fizzled by the end. Exclusives imo Wii > ps3=360 Power Ps3(in theory) > 360 >>>>>>>>> wii Overall best console imo 360>wii>ps3 However they are really close so don’t think I hate the ps3.

I had a Wii, then a 360, then sold the 360 and recently got a relatively unused 60GB PS3 which I had repasted and changed power supply. Overall, I think the Wii and PS3 60GB are tied for me. Wii has a massive library with its extensive Virtual Console, GameCube compatibility and the Wii games. Original PS3 has PS2 compatibility as well as PS1, plus its own library and Classics on the PS Store, plus Blu-Ray. Xbox 360 had paid online, limited backwards compatibility and my least preferred controller of the 3 systems, it didn't click with me as much. PS3 had the best interface imo.

I think one of the things that should be mentioned about this generation, is that Nintendo do not get enough credit whatsoever. Gen 7 was the most competive in history, all three major manufacturers produced a decent console that sold well, and awesome software too. Not only did Nintendo sell the most home console units, but at this time, they also sold the most successful handheld of all time. Microsoft, from 2005 to 2013, managed to sell 84 million consoles. And arguably, their big exclusives were all decline with the best releases coming earlier in the generation. Sony sold 87 million PS3s and up to 85 million PSP units. That's insane. They sold up to 172 million pieces of hardware. In addition, they built up an excellent library of exclusives, which just got better and better, and they took that momentum firmly into Gen 8. For Nintendo, it was even more impressive, it was 101 million Wii Consoles, 154 million DS consoles and they were also selling the Gameboy Advance which in the second half of its time on the market (2005-2010) would have sold between 15 and 30 million units. Nintendo sold between 270 and 285 million pieces of hardware in this generation. They have never been so dominant or had such a big investment payoff. These numbers make the Switch seem like a disappointment, considering it's a home and handheld hybrid.

I'm mostly a PC gamer. However my gaming roots were in the NES, SNES and Genesys of the early '90s. So a few years ago I got a used Wii, hacked it and installed all the emulators so that I can play the classics with my wife. This probably triggered something, because I just bought a 360 with a Kinect yesterday and I'm absolutely loving it. Don't get me wrong - PC will always be my preferred gaming platform, because I'm too used to it - I've been playing on PC since 1989, but there's always been a handful of console exclusive games that I wished got issued for PC. Plus the motion control is still something that is exclusive to consoles (yes, there are ways to hack it for use with PC, but there is no PC content for it, so it's useless), and it's rather fun by itself.

I’ve always been a PlayStation guy. Had PS1, PS2 and now a PS4. But with this generation I went for an XBOX 360. And I gotta say I don’t regret my decision. I loved it. Most of my friends went for the PS3 and although it was a great piece of hardware the 360 had more soul, a warmer feeling if that makes sense. I was just drawn to it 🤷‍♂️ But the greatest console of all time for me personally will always be the PS2. That’s the one I grew up on. Part of my childhood. 360 was more my teenage years so the nostalgia for the PS2 will always make it come out on top.

Sales of each console and release date for EUROPE🇬🇧 2005. Xbox 360 - 85M 2006. Nintendo Wii - 102M 2007. PlayStation 3 - 87M PS3 came out 1year and 4months after the Xbox and still managed to outsell it. All 3 main consoles were great in their own way, i prefer the Xbox 360 S myself. I owned a Wii and 360. It's pretty obvious who won lol. The numbers are there and we've all had fond memories with the wii at christmas or just goofing around with friends. It was the ultimate "casual" console and I loved that. Wont deny the other 2 had amazing games and good specs tho.

Of the three, I've got to give the edge to the Wii. It's saddening to see how few people know how great its library is. I once dismissed it as gimmicky trash like everyone else. I could not be more wrong. I can now legitimately name over 100 Wii games worth owning off the top of my head, and I'm sure there's many Japanese exclusives and niche titles I'm missing. Its library is very well-rounded, and was the last console to truly excel in middle-budget titles due to being cheap and easy to develop for.

Naughty Dogs are Underrated Even if all of what you said is true, I'd still put the Wii's backwards compatibility ahead of the PS3's. Gamecube support > PS1 support. Maybe if they had kept the PS2 emulation in then it would be better.

that gen was my favorite generation, I was a young adult so i kinda had enought free time to play and had enough money to buy all of them. in 2008 i got the PS3, in 2009 i got the Wii and in 2010 i got the Xbox 360 and man i had a GREAT time. I was in love with God of War 3, Uncharted, Killzone 3 and Twited Metal on PS3. For Xbox 360 All Gears of Wars games and Halo games were addictive but i fell in love with Halo Reach, man i spent so many hours playing it online along with Left 4 Dead 2 and in the end i played the 360 more than the PS3 cus 3rd party games looked and played better on the 360 than the PS3 so the Xbox 360 was the best of those two for me. And last but not least, the Wii, it was my confident, they used to say that the complete experience was to have a Wii and and any of the other two (360 or ps3) well, it was true. The Wii was the livingroom console, ALL my friends used to come to my house and play hours of Wii Sport's Golf, Super Smash Bros Brawl and Mario Kart Wii. I also loved playing No more Heroes, Madworld, Monster Hunter 3 tri, Redsteel 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Zelda Skyward Sword (one of my favorites), Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 (best Mario games ever), Conduit 1 and 2 (best shooter on the Wii), Resident Evil the Darkside Chronicles and of course SILENT HILL SHATTERED MEMORIES... man the Wii really made those games better with the Wii Motion Plus, thats when things got fantastic. Ah... best years really. Still have my Wii and my Xbox 360.. sadly my PS3 didn't make it, it broke down due to overheat in 2012. This current gen its not as cool, so i moved to PC gaming and got the Wii U (and then the Switch) PC + Nintendo is the best way to go nowadays.

The worst part about the Wii is that it only had 64 mb of ram. If Nintendo had followed MS and Sony in doubling the ram for the system, many of the games would have looked significantly better and some games could have had larger worlds.

@@Shan-ey4wh Uhh I own all 3 and XBOX Has free games to and some are exclusives like Harms way, Doritos crash course and world of tanks and only broke people complain about Gold memberships and the PS4 has to pay for their PS plus which i also have. And XBOX can do backwards compatibility as well with Original XBOX games and XBOX ONE can do double backwards compatibility with 360 and 20 Original XBOX games(atleast at the moment).
