I am very thankful that there is an official and public teardown video for this. It actually helped me decide to buy the PS4 Pro as I was not only interested in if the hard drive was kept easy to swap but also how easy it was to service if my warranty expired or was void for any reason. Also gave me a good idea of build quality and improvements over the original PS4. Ordered the pro shortly after seeing this.

Have you noticed the airflow is designed like a PC's as well? When the PS5 is standing vertical, the cool air is pulled in from the front/top and hot air is exhausted out of the back while having the power supply at the bottom out of the way. The PSU shape is also designed to assist the exhaust escape out of the system.

The overheating problem of this version was caused by the lack of contact between the memory chips underneath and the shielding plate, which would allow it to dissipate the heat. If you have this version and your console sounds like a jet engine, apply a thermal pad between the two metal plates underneath.

Who ever decide to open PS4, be very careful with the PSU Cable that connects to the mother board at 3:19. It is so fragile basically while pulling it off, you can pull off whole connector on the motherboard. On the video it looks easy, but it is not. Sony while making this video should have put some kind of disclaimer. There is other youtube channel that repairs consoles ( I forgot the name) that said that you need to have special tweezers for this. PS4 is cheap inside unfortunately, but their PS3 Slim was built like a tank, and it was much easier to open too.

You take out the right screws and power supply, the entire motherboard wiggles out in one go with both metal plates attatched. No need to open it up. I recently found this out.

Sony i have to give you good credit for the engineering in this thing. Small. Compact. Quiet. Smaller than the Xbox one. A lot of parts in one Box. Twice the Power of PS4. Build in power supply. Sony really proven their are one of the best engineering company around the world.

Aham. So the Xbox One X, 1,8 tflops more powerful than the PS4 Pro, smaller than the very small Xbox One S and the most powerful console in the word does not deserve to be noticed. And also it is the largest PS4 ever made, it is not compact.
