The charging station is an absolute must IMO. The dualsense battery life isn't spectacular so always having a topped off charge is awesome. Plus, it looks great and displays your controller(s) nicely 👌🏼

I got a costco bundle for $777 including tax and shipping. Includes 2 controller, Sony headset, 1 year ps plus, 1 month ps now. I need 2 controllers so I can charge one while using the other and also for playing coop. I’m perfectly fine paying extra since I’d pay the more for buying them individually and just happy to get a Ps5 anyway

Great video man. For my PS5 I went with the media remote (I have lg smart tv so it doesn’t have hbo max) for streaming some apps, Dualsense charging station (sleek asf and actually good looking charging station), extra controller (for long gaming sessions), and the pulse 3d lastly. Enjoying it all

All wireless usb headsets work with PS5. It isn't proprietary there's an entire market for wireless gaming headsets that all use a similar type of dongle. My old Logitech G933s that I got a couple months back work for the PS5. The Arctis 1, another Steelseries headset costs $99. The Arctis Pro is the most premium and comes packed with features but the Arctis 1 should be good enough for most and I'm prob going to pick up that since my G933 have some issues due to age.

Also my guess as to why Bluetooth headsets aren't supported by any console is due to latency. Yes, the dualshock 4 and dualsense connect to the console via bluetooth but not all bluetooth is created equally. There are a couple of different audio codecs and only one supports low latency audio. However, that codec is useless is your earbuds/headset doesn't also support that codec as it isn't one of the standards (SBC and AAC are the standards, aptx low latency is the one I'm talking about if anyone is interested in doing research). It's likely that the Dualshock 4 and Dualsense uses a proprietary bluetooth codec that allows low latency audio Of course Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo could just allow people to connect their bluetooth headsets anyway and just deal with any latency and sound issues they may encounter, but I guess they don't want to deal with the frustration as the average person won't understand that they can't just expect their airpods to have low latency. P.S: Another issue that I just remembered relates more to Sony and Microsoft since Nintendo doesn't have voice chat, but as far as I know none of the bluetooth codecs support high quality audio + mic support.

the docking station I would say is probably the first thing you should get. the wear and tear of the usb-c can eventually wreck your controller. happened to my Pro Switch controller.. could no longer charge thru usb-c.. but the bottom still works.

I got my ps5 this 2021 christmas as a gift. One year later, and the whole "get an external HDD for your ps4 games, an hdmi switcher, maybe something to charge your controller" hit me just right. The ps4 hdd went right in, I have an usb-c to usb-c cable lying around that can free up the usb-a port in the front if I need, and I've had a switcher for quite a while because my setup is aging and some ports don't seem to be working well. Also got psplus as soon as it was here. I'm set, I guess.

You can get the same extended storage hard drive in the thumb nail but without the logo for like $10-$15 cheaper. I got the cheaper one and it works the same as my friends, who has the logo one.

If I’m not mistaken 3D pulse headphones give you not just left and right but also above you and below you. Just doesn’t do in front or behind you. Making it not surround sound.

Another good headset is the PS4 gold headsets. You can often find them for $70 and they work amazingly on PS5. Just disable 3D audio and they’re perfect.

I did notice with the 3D Pulse headphones that that surround sound/3D sound worked when you changed audio settings inside the game. I noticed it most prominently in Rift Apart

You can use PC headsets with the PS5 as well. You don’t have to use the Sony approved headsets. The only feature you will be missing is battery life. I’m currently using my corsair headset.

The Sony PS5 controller charger is very convenient because it lets you charge controllers and it doesn’t require you to plug anything into the ps5’s USB-A ports.

For gaming headphones I use the wireless Sony wh1000xm3. I connect via Bluetooth with the NSync dongle (I bought for my Switch) and the mic from the controller. Works great! I used them on ps4 but had no mic, the dual sense mix actually works fantastic.

I use my Astro A50 wireless headset that I got for my PS4 with my PS5. I had to purchase an optical/HDMI splitter, but it works great. You can toggle game/chat mix in the party settings when you join. Best headset I've ever owned- blows the Sony Gold and Platinum sets out of the water in sound quality. Not sure how it stacks up against the Pulse 3D though. They did cost me $300, so not the cheapest option.

Quite an informative video. The items that I required for my PS5 which I have had since launch via successful pre-order are as follows: 1) Astro Gaming HDMI Optical splitter to connect the PS5 to my Logitech Z5500 5.1 speaker system in my home office since the PS5 does not have an optical out port. 2) Samsung 1TB 970 Evo SSD with requisite USB 3.0 case for PS4 games. I plan on purchasing the 1TB Samsung 980 Pro M.2 NVMe drive once Sony activates the internal M.2 port to expand the PCIe Gen 4 internal storage.
