Not sure why people are talking about it being $700 & doesn't come with a disc drive. PCs haven't used dics for years. If you look at a digital slim compared to a Pro the difference is $250. It has double the SSD storage, nearly double the gfx power, 2 extra gigs of ram for the OS, better WiFi capabilities. The last PC I built was 4 years ago & that gfx card I put in was over 250. If I decided to upgrade the gfx card to something decent these days 🤔

I like the choice between 60fps performance pro mode & 30fps pro fidelity mode with higher quality ray tracing over the base ps5 modes. For me, it all depends on what games im playing. Some play very well at 30fps plus i have a samsung qdoled which has a option called motion pro plus which makes 30fps games seem almost lile they are running at 60fps for a sacrifice of small input lag & some artifacts. Ps5 pro will be the place to play all third & 1st party games on apart from pc which is the preferred way to play games for higher fidelity & performance if youre into pcs

People whine too much. I still have all the Playstations and am fortunate financially to be able to reserve the PS Pro. Don't think the console is the problem, it's the price. But beware: the people complaining about the PS 5 Pro now will be the first to be disappointed when GTA 6 comes out. One more thing: about 50 games can be released for the Pro... once GTA 6 comes out, no one will want to play anything else. So those games are only there to bridge your time to GTA 6. My TV is the LG 77C25LB, my surround is the Samsung HW-Q990C and with the Pro I am completely ready. Bring on GTA6!! Because in any case, the PS5 Pro is the best console you can get at the moment.

I was going to drop £700 on the pro, but people adviced me to build a PC instead. For about £870, I managed to build a Ryzen 7600, 32 GB ram, 1 TB ssd and an AMD 7800 XT build and so far im so impressed. Now I wont have to worry about wasting £60 a year on PS plus to play and im just gonna put the money instead to upgrade my GPU in the next 4 years. Im done with Sony greed.

it has 16,7 tf. we always use fp32. the normal ps5 also has 20 tf if you choose fp16. but again we chip away from teraflops to architecture+ai scaling

The math has already been done, its roughly 50% faster than PS5, is the equivalent of an RTX 4070, which is half as fast as an RTX 4090 and we are two months away from a refresh where the 5090 will be 2x as fast as the 4090 and 4x faster than a PS5 Pro. For $700 it's actually impressive. My issue is that as a PC gamer I have a PS5 solely for PSVR2 and Sony, which has essentially abandoned PSVR2, has not confirmed any improvements to existing PSVR2 titles. I play @ 32:9 with a 4090 on my PC, also no ultrawide support either. Currently enjoying Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered completely maxed at 7680x2160 in HDR @ 90 FPS everywhere with my Dual Sense controller (DLSS FG and DLSS: quality). On PS5 Pro this is a 60 FPS 3840x2160 Medium- High settings experience for comparison.

Dragons dogma is running somewhere in between 30-60 and same for spiderman 2 when all RT is enabled. It's easy to tell its not 60fps. Also alan wake 2 doesn't have RT on consoles but pro gets RT reflections with 30fps.
