The fact that Cloud, Spyro and Crash Bandicoot are not here when they managed to fit TWO versions of Cole in the game is just...I don't even know. Crash in particular, that was the character I really wanted to play when I first heard of this game and is an icon in Playstation history for me.

I dunno about ICO, SOTC or Journey characters, but maybe stages? I don't know if a Journey level in a fighting game would be very respectful to what that game was trying to accomplish, but I could see a War of the Monsters stage with a Colossus suddenly walking onto the battlefield.

I have faith in this game as well as for its sequel. From watching videos and discussions about the game it has a bit of a learning curve before it really shines as a deep and tactical fighting game. For people arguing that this game is a crappy reaction to Super Smash Bros then I have two points for you; you haven't even played the game yet and Sony has actually put a lot of effort into this game. Many of the staff who worked on this game are renown in the fighting game scene.

Smashes aren't the only way to get kills, there's edge guarding, meteor smashes, and there's also damage that you take, so say if you have 200% you could get knocked out by lighter hits.

This game really could have been much better. Aside from Cloud, there's Prince from Katamari, Aya from Parasite Eve, the protagonist from Shadow of Colossus, Rikimaru from Tenchu, any protagonist from the PS2 GTAs, Okami and, above all, CHARLIE MOTHERFUCKING TUNOKU from Persona 4 Endurance Run.

At a competitive level who gets knocked out by anything but a Smash attack? Either I make a mistake and fall to my death, get hit by a Smash attack, or get hit by a final smash. The odd exception (such as B attacks, like Ike's and C.Falcon's) might hit me, but if your playing seriously it is chip damage until you hit a smash attack. PS All Stars is building meter until you can hit a smash attack (Level 1), a high level B attack (Level 2) or a final smash (Level 3).

It actually has a lot of strategy, no offense to Brad, Jeff etc. but they're kinda just spamming attacks mindlessly (I've only watched the first fight so far, mind you), but the game has some really nice deep combat, and an interesting meta game in building your supers up, it can be played pretty deeply and competitively.

Abe is probably 'no' since that franchise got shifted to the Xbox. Rayman is appropriate but I could see some suit deciding he's associated with the Wii at this point. Activision own Crash and Spyro, and I could see them not willing to play ball to get those characters in this game. Nobody knows or cares about Croc. SquareEnix has their own crossover fighting game franchise with Dissidia and probably refused. Castlevania Judgement has the Castlevania characters. Tomba should be in this game.
