I remember 'TV TV TV' almost spelled the end for Xbox during Xbox One. The difference here is, Xbox is feeding Ponies with games, so Sony is taking this opportunity to kick Poines to curb and spend money on movies and TV, where they will make more money. Their games have fallen sharply and Sony needs to recoup money. They realized, after Concord, their games aren't going to cut it and with more anticipated flops incoming, Sony is sweating.

To be totally transparent here, I've always believed PlayStation IP's are more movie than game. With that being said, It really depends on the quality of the movies. Uncharted did not do as well as they hoped, due to in part trying to fit all 3 ps3 games together. Last of us is better as a show than game. Horizon seems better for tv as well. Sony is rolling the dice here.

They are damned I they do and damned if they don't. Their 1st part games don't sell well and their movies suck. What do they do? The Last of Us TV show and Helldivers are pretty much the exception.

Sony had a lot of movie production studios than gaming sector, that Hollywood has been utilizing. The problem right now, Hollywood/movie making is woke, creatively bankrupt. The last Of Us adaptation alone has a lot of extra baggage. If Sony pull it off, then good. But, if its going downhill, I wouldn't be surprise.

PlayStation: we need more IPs to make games. Also Sony: we made a series/movie for you to watch so you can buy the 3rd remaster we just released. Me: can I have a new Twisted Metal? Sony: No!

Firstly, yes, yes you can play Xbox games on a smart fridge, it's been done before haha - Also, I just wanna point out, MS/Xbox does have some of their game properties being made as movies/ shows - Fallout has been a huge success, There's a MineCraft movie being released in the coming months, they also do have a animated series being developed for Gears of War, and a live action film, but this seems to be MIA, and there have been rumblings of a Grounded series, I also believe I remember hearing something about South of Midnight possibly getting some kind movie/ show adaptation if the game is successful. But yes, Phil spencer is on record stating that they aren't in the business to just try and make every Xbox IP into a show or movie. Todd Howard similarly shares this sentiment. The Fallout show only got greenlit because the producer of the show had an idea and everything just worked out. Todd actually said up until that point he had turned down close to a dozen Fallout adaptation pitches.

There are 100 episodes of the Zatoichi tv series and 25 movies/remakes. Blind Fury and Ghost Dog: Way of the Samuri can also be included in a binge list, while everyone waits.

Looking forward for DMC anime. Although I'm worried since I heard some staff from the awful Nocturne castlevania is working on it. Arcane, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Sonic trilogy and Mario movie set the bar high for these video game adaptations.

The one thing that I want on to do is cancel the gravity rush movie and hopefully the Original team that worked on gravity rush can buy the IP from Sony.

Sony movies adapted from videogames and comics have questionable quality. From Uncharted, Kraven, Madame Web, Resident Evil 2021. They're mediocre at best. At worst, they're not even funny meme movies and downright boring in the case of Mobius. They also come off as cheap and underfunded.

Yeah, I'm not sure this is such a great idea. How'd that live action transition work out for Halo? Not great. In principal, I have no objection to the idea itself on paper, but I have intense misgivings about the people who will be in charge, and what they are likely to do vis a vis The Message (TM).

The first horizon if they actually did a prequel movie about elisabets life for example would be ok, rather than retreading the game. Fallout did a good job if you remember. But I won't watch the last of us franchise because they literally killed it already. It's just moving the remakes further into cult and movie status and further monetising the brand. Toys and figures next? Doesn't do a lot for me apart from my suggestion above. I'm not so faithfully devoted to the brand anymore so it's like water off a ducks back. Sounds like a pipe dream of Neil Druckman's creation. And nobody even bothered to take pictures of him. Hopefully they let the right people do the job.

Sony needs to stop trying to make Horizon a “thing” They keep elevating Horizon like it’s the next Last of Us which is not. The first game was good, interesting story, great world…characters…not so much memorable. The second game, can’t really say as I haven’t played it but the fact that they keep making the VR and LEGO games, they just need to stop. Horizon is essentially just Avatar, gorgeous to look at fun to watch…at the end of the day, they’re better James Cameron films. Sony just needs to wrap it up with Horizon 3 and call it a day

This method allows them to... let's say "diversify their portfolio." It's a smart move. They are leveraging an unconventional syrength of theirs (from the perspective of gaming) to both spread their IPs out to people who don't know about them or forgot about them *_and_* stoke game sales, potentially, at the same time. • The Fallout t.v. show boosted sales of Fallout games. (And boosted players in that multiplayer Fallout game.) • The Sonic the Hedgehog movies have boosted sales of Sonic the Hedgehog games. • The The Last of Us t.v. show boosted sales for the Last Of Us Remake. (Not as much as the others, sure. But that particluar IP-specific market was already saturated.) • That Cyberpunk animé got people back into the Cyberpunk (2077?) game just in time for that expansion, which ended up putting CD Projek Red back into the gaming community's good graces again. • The Super Mario movie helped the sales of various Super Mario games. Straight up, if the show or movie rocks, it *_is_* reflected in game sales and game play. Now... by "how much" isn't consistent and therefore isn't yet predictable. But it *_does_* help. Also, movies and t.v. shows is another way to set up nostalgia for future It's really not a bad move.
