Tried this for Silent Hill. The first time I loaded the game it ran fine, but had echoy and clicky sound. Next time I ran the game, it played at half speed. After that, it wouldn't load. Huh.

⁠​⁠@@DNAMobileGamingalright… please KZbin, do not delete this. 1) The downloads folder is where the designated content is supposed to go. This way, you don’t have to go to the root of the SD card. 2) Use the psp version of the bios to get better performance. I am not naming it, because I think that is why KZbin deleted the comment. You can look at the git page for details. 3) The Reddit article is 3 yrs old, so some of the settings have been moved around. 4) The Reddit article is pretty good for general performance, but some games need different settings to run ideally. For example, Tekken 3 needs to be set to synchronous rendering instead of asynchronous because it was a rare 60fps 3D game. 5) I always delete the other cores to save space. They are saved as cia files in the “core” folder. If you aren’t planning on using them, then you can delete them all to save space. DO NOT delete the cia files of the cores you are planning to use. I use the FB 2012 Neo geo core and the pcsx rearmed core. So those are the only cia files I keep. Same thing with the info files. It just saves a lot of space. Edit: 6) You do not need that “2048” core to be installed. When you launch the Retroarch cia for the first time, it installs the first core that is sorted by the alphabet. (Numbers first obviously). That is another cia you can delete. If you only want to play PS1 games, then you only need the pcsx rearmed core. 7) You can configure the controls to use the circle pad with of the d-pad. There are a few different ways to do this. I do it by going into (main menu -> settings -> input -> port 1 controls -> analog to digital type -> (then select “left analog”)). 8) You can disable 3D functionality and the bottom screen of the Retroarch menu increase battery life and performance as well. This is also in settings. Question: I tried upgrading to 1.16, but if I access the Retroarch menu from a game, the in-game audio starts looping (it’s very annoying). I was on 1.15 and the in-game audio would pause every time I entered the Retroarch menu. Do you know how to fix this? Or do you also experience looping audio with ver. 1.16?

Help! I installed retroarch to my New 3DS XL but even crash bandicoot experiences so much lag it’s nearly unplayable. The micro SD is a fast read speed, the console is in mint condition. What could I have done wrong? Any tips appreciated!

bin/cue/chd/iso seem to work fine for me I always just convert to CHD to save space.

Yes! If you place a system that is emulating a ps2 on top of a 2ds, you are technically emulating on the 2ds.

i had this for a year, its cool but has its compatibility issues. just get a stronger handheld devices like the retroid, ayn odin or steamdeck.

I have them all, except Steam Deck I own the One X Player. Despite Citra being a thing, I still prefer my $200 2DS XL because I can actually play all of my games without having to configure billions of settings that may or may not work.. oh also you can pop in a R4 card which plays most of the emulation you mentioned plus a hacked 3DS can play even N64

Did you follow the guide thoroughly? .iso files work perfectly fine, the files I have are compressed the only difference is they're smaller file formats and still run the same.

Type in Google PS ONE Rom you'll find what you're looking for, also what device are you using? If you follow the guide thoroughly you'll succeed at accomplishing this with your hacked New 2DS XL or New 3DS XL.

It works but at least with the game I tried, not very well, tried playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and I got maybe 10 frames per second with glitchy audio, lol

Check the compatibility list not every game will work.

I wouldn't rely on the compatibility list too much as its missing lots of games, however it does confirm its working on there so I would suggest to try a different file format like .chd or .pbp instead of bin/cue.

It works. but that is all. Compatibility is poor. It jerks. It hangs and crashes. The New 3DS isn't made for that. Hands off. Can be perfectly emulated: Atari 2600 NES SNES MegaDrive (Genesys) Master System 2 GB GBC GBA D.S 3DS.
