Worth noting that you can’t realize how amazing vr is and what it offers to gaming till you try it. I jumped into psvr 1 for arcade style experiences, and I was already blown away in the menu and it was 2000x greater than I expected. Also no man’s sky is in psvr 2 for your desire to explore.

The developers actually support that in the PC version. There are tracking options that allow people to attach their controllers to any sort of pipe or stick. Hopefully the option is also in the PSVR 2 version.

That's what I'm gonna do. I have a playseat, which kind of has a similar seating position as a kayak. I'll get a short, somewhat weighted bar and attach the controllers to each end

You can actually do that, at least in the PC version (no idea if they'll bring the feature to PSVR 2, but probably). They have a tracking option specifically so that'll work.

@@alexk9295 The position and motions that a controller makes when its in your hands as you're making paddling motions is different from if it's attached to a bar. The developers specifically built support in and tested it to make sure that wouldn't cause issues. They might have also done something to make menu navigation easier without holding the controllers in your hand, but I'm not sure about that.

this is actually a really smart way to use VR without the problem of what to do with the player legs. I hope it is more than a relaxing kayaking simulator and yyou can actually interact with objects or discover an history while exploring. kind of subnautica narrative style would be amazing.

As a day one VR adopter and frequent user, I am honestly most excited about Kayak VR: Mirage. A few games came close with realistic graphics and amazing landscapes, but with HDR and this level of tactile feedback, it looks like this can finally bridge a large part of the gap that VR has needed to truly transport you. I may try it while holding a broom to simulate the feel, but these are definitely environments I want to experience after a long day of living in this world.

@@alexk9295 All games do this on Quest and 99% of games do this on PSVR1, I think certain PCVR games utilize it to lesser degrees too, it's technically called fixed focused rendering when it's implemented like this, it doesn't look too bad because you're never really looking right into the edges of the lenses as it's VR so if you want to see something at the edge of your peripheral vision you can and mostly will just turn your head.

The developers have said they're hoping to add proper multiplayer at some point, but I've got no idea if it'll be there in time for PSVR 2's launch.

Dont think PS5 can run as high as on PC, but even with lower settings will still look great.

@@-racingfan2014 I think this will be very close to high settings. PSVR2 + PS5 is very powerful. They can use foveated rendering with eye tracking to increase performance which we don't have on PC. In fact, it will look better because of that along with the OLED displays, which will produce significantly better colours and contrast than any other headset too. I'm sticking with PCVR, but this will look better compared to any PCVR headset currently available today.

@@zackmac5917 I still think PS5 will need some sort of frame tricks. Dont think it will run 90fps native, maybe for some games but not the big ones on high resolution. I have used fixed foveated rendering on PC, it does help but doesnt provide miracles.

I can imagine the rowing will have force mechanics on the trigger buttons to make the gameplay more simple and have some sense of immersion rather than using arms and motion sensors. Was gonna try out VR2 headset and I'm looking forward to this one and GT7 the most.

No you definitely use your arms I mean just look at the way the paddle is moving. Perhaps they would have an accessibility option for trigger controls though
