Same. I bought Persona 5 about 6 months before I purchased my PS4, which I bought right after graduating college. I didn't have a job lined up for about 3-4 weeks, so I spent literally every day, anywhere from 2-13 hours at a time. My best friend from home had a full-time job so since I didn't have anything else to do, it satiated my need for any sort of social interaction. "Just one more day" became "well I'll finish this week" and then eventually "well it would be a crime to quit on the 23rd of the month, so I may as well finish it." Stardew Valley did the same thing until I started P5

Rosie idk if you are going to read this but if you do: Train in the omega ruins to gain levels and decent loot, stay around the save sphere for the first day of grinding. Make sure you unlock the way so all of your characters can access eachothers grid the easiest way is through Kimhari's grid as he only need lvl1 key locks. Also switch in every char every fight, if you dont want attack with them just press triangle and they will go in a defensive stance automatically. That way all of your characters gain XP every fight. They only need one action per fight. You should be able to defeat the final boss without sinking hours into the monster arena or ultimate weapons anyway.

Whilst it wasn't on PlayStation, my game is Battlefield II: Modern Combat. My brother and I spent hours, and days, and weeks in that game. We'd quite literally come back from school and start immediately playing it, trying to rank up and pushing ourselves to try different classes each time. At one point we had an old sofa that we sat on and wrote on it in marker pen all of our kills. We actually played one map so much that we got really stuck into playing it (as we called it) Rambo style. No gun, just a Knife. You had to hunt around in the jungle, down on the beach and through buildings with a knife...no gun kills were allowed. And you know what, we'd end up coming out on top each map AND winning the objectives too - there was a lot of time spent delving into that game!

For me it’s Monster Hunter World. I had it pre-ordered and got it day 1, played about 2 or 3 hours and really hated it, didn’t understand it and couldn’t adjust to the combat. But then.... A random guy from the US I met on Overwatch Competitive I became good friends with and one day I notice he was playing Monster Hunter World. I asked him how could he possibly enjoy it with it being really tedious and such things. He spoke to me about it and then convinced me to install it again and give it another try and he would help me. He taught me how to play the game, the main purpose of the game and what to do, he basically taught me everything. Before he taught me about the game I had 2-3 hours total playtime. I now have 700+ hours, all Armour sets, most weapons, endless supplies, basically everything. It’s amazing how a game you dislike can quickly become one of your favourites when you learn about it and understand it.

If were talking about time spent on a game I remeber my first real jrpg grind (excluding pokemon) was Tales of the Abyss. For me that game was incredible because not only was it a jrpg, but it was the first I had ever played that allowed the player to freely move during combat, but the reason I spent so much time on it was because of the new game+ option. The game had a point system that allowed you to aquire points from combat and then start a new game and spend those points to increase the difficulty or lower it, to keep all your inventory from the previous game, etc. So at the end of the first week playing this game my friend asked me how many hours I had put into it and I was surprised to see that in a single week (first week playing it) I had logged in 142.3 hours of game play. Which meant I had spent all but 26 hours of my week just playing that game. Let's not discuss my overall hours played though...

Then I started to lose it to COD Black Ops Zombies, COD Black Ops 2 Multiplayer, COD MW3 Survival Mode, & COD Advanced Warfare Zombies. I even had to play COD Ghosts Extinction & Multiplayer for a while because for some odd reason COD BO2 Multiplayer wasn't working for a few months...

Metal Gear Online is my favourite online game to this day. Totally agree with Rob. I used to play it constantly at high school and I'm certain I must've had games with/against Rob. I was part of the FOX clan and we had a rivalry with MGF (Metal Gear Force) if i remember correctly. You could attain animal rankings based on your stats. If you were in the top 30 players in any game mode, you could earn the rank of FOXHOUND. Proud to say I achieved it along with a few of my buddies.

Wow, did not expect to see Rosie. Last time must've been like 4+ years ago in a Caddicarus cameo, good for her!

Shadow of Mordor the game play loop on that was irresistible, there was always a new nemesis or a new badass orc to recruit into your army

Skyrim for me. When I first began playing I played so obsessively that you could pretty literally call it obsession. For the first few WEEKS after I got it, if I was not eating, sleeping, or working, I was playing skyrim.

FFVII I grinded for so long to defeat Emeral and Ruby Weapon. Turns out I just needed to change my materia set up but as a kid I didn't understand. Spent hours upon hours in the sunken submarine because I didn't realise you could get out the northern crater and so I wasn't even fighting the high level enemies. Gave up in the end and eventually went back as an adult (10ish) years later and finally defeated them. I've never been so happy. Now if I could just do the final mission on driver my life would be complete.

Add the addendum to the end of the title "excluding Skyrim", because every last one of us would have to mention that. for me it's not even just the game itself, Skyrim MODDING has literally taken days of my life! just going through and finding all the best and most fun mods! I don't really do the multiple character thing, I have my main that I do everything with, and I think my steam account has me pinned at like 700+ Skyrim hours, excluding the time I had spent looking through just catalogs of mods! Sometimes just going in to have a walk around the beautifully realized (and heavily modded) world. Also, that doesn't include my very first playthrough on the Xbox 360 way back when it first came out. So much of my life... yeah...

Probably Skyrim when it first came out, before my save got corrupted I sunk between 3000-4000 hours total. An honourable mention would be the re2 remake, despite getting the platinum I still enjoy that game like it's the first time I'm playing it, every time.

Nathan Nicol you played Skyrim for 125 days+ ? 🤔😑
@Nathan-mt9im5 жыл бұрын
@@hoverauto2 it was more the intensity of the sessions, days at a time just not moving, this was a long time ago aswell, not to mention those hours might be off, but they were with just one character. I did make several other characters with a few hundred hours between them, but for my first massive game I'd say it was a decent effort

Since I don't always care about dropping whatever I'm playing just to play the neweet game, I've spent many months on single games, mostly in recent memory within the last 3-5 years, but I have played none of them as long as and as consistently as I have played the original Star Wars Battlefront 2. My Xbox 360 broke due to the dreaded red ring of death, and instead of fixing it it replacing it, I spent the entirety of my gaming life in 2010 playing Star Wars BF2 on my PS2 before finally getting an Xbox 360 Slim Arcade. I got crazy good at that excellent game.

Modern Warfare 2 has consumed my life on multiple occasions. Across my friends XBOX, 2 PSN accounts, and a steam account, I’ve prestiged probably 17 times, in total. I still play that shit on PC too. It’s great.

I’ve been missing you guys and there’s only been a day in between uploads 😭 And the Friday Feature playlist has made my days go too many times 😂 Also, I’d assume Destiny is Nath’s pick and if not I think it still holds up

Destiny 2 when it first came out because I had preordered it and spent days upon days just grinding up my characters until I maxed all of them out then I had nothing left to do but my friends were still leveling up so I joined them. This went for a solid month. The most amount of hours I’ve ever spent was on pokemon diamond for the DS Lite (somewhere around 400-500 hours).

Loved Rob’s entry! I have a similar story, but with a happier ending. I actually met one of my best friends thanks to Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence and Metal Gear Online. He reached out to me when he saw on a forum that I was buying a PS2 Internet Adapter to play MGO. We started chatting and playing together as soon as the game came out. We played god knows how many hours of MGO, and ended up becoming actual friends outside of the game and gaming forums. We met and still to this day, we are very good friends. I miss MGO, that game deserves to get a new release, including all original maps of MGO1 and 2. P.S.: Best mode was capture the frog!

the Tony Hawks games is how I got into music, THPS2 introduced me to what is still today my favourite band of all time (Bad Religion). Also Dave mentions that to listen to No Cigar he'd have to buy the album, it's a good album (Pennybridge Pioneers)

Back in the day I spent thousands of hours maybe more on Gran Turismo 4 and NFS Most Wanted 2005. My friend and I would play split screen GT4 every weekend for years. We adored it.

Rob, I really feel you with the first metal gear online and the reason you think it was the best is because it was! Don’t get me wrong I loved metal gear 4 online. But the maps and the the pace of MGS3 online was so good that whenever you died, you knew that it was your problem because the game was so balanced and tactical. I never got to experience MGS3 online until I got the PS3 at launch and at that time the PS3 was able to play PS1 and PS2 games and any PS2 game online worked with the PS3 online service. I remember playing this PS2 game on my PS3 until MGS4 came out. All this time I had a next gen system playing a last gen game 😂 that’s how good it was! RIP the original MGO

Metal Gear solid series. I beat guns of the patriots 21 times since it was one of 3 ps3 games I owned at the time in High school. Metal gear solid 5 came out the week before my final semester at college so I took off of work for the entire week before school and did a last junvenille hurrah and played it for 60 hours. Metal gear solid 3, I once forgot a character's name off the top of my head and, instead of just googling it, decided to play through MGS3 entirely in the following 8 hours. It was the Fury, idk how i forgot that XP
