I was 4 or 5, I was talking to my brother, who was cleaning up his PS1 memory card. And I distracted him by talking to him, and instead of deleting a random save of a random game, he accidentally deletes... His level 99, all materia maxed out, all limit breaks found and all characters leveled up save of Final Fantasy VII. 25 years later he still tells me he remembers with vivid clarity the sound and the visual of the file being deleted... forever.

I was playing Tales of Berseria. There was an optional boss or maybe it was a side quest. I had been playing on normal difficulty up to this point but for some reason I couldn’t beat this guy or maybe I just wanted the “cleared” sign next to my side quest list and not work for it too much. So I lowered the difficulty to easy, beat the boss, turned the difficulty back to normal and pretended it never happened.

Best part about the Bishi Bashi section is that you can control the game with the analogue stick OR the face d-pad/buttons. This was a time when not everyone had analogue stick controllers. The mouse game, you just tap left or right to effectively steer it as it moves forward.

My most despicable gaming moment: On one of the old EA Rugby games (maybe 2007), a friend and I each drafted teams of our favourite players to play against each other. My mate got Bryan Habana, who I really wanted. He was the fastest in the game, and my mate was completely murdering me with him. To make matters worse, he kept chanting "Bana Bana Bana!" every time he ran past me, and it was driving me mad. While my friend was out of the room, I used the create-a-player mode to create a fake player called "Bryan Habana", who looked roughly like him, but had lower stats (but not so low that my friend would notice), and replaced the real Bryan Habana in his team. I spent the next few weeks easily beating my friend, due to his handicapped team, and boasted excessively about how I could beat him even though he had Habana. He never discovered the truth. Over a decade later, the relevant friend is still my housemate, but despite living together, I haven't been able to look him in the eye since.
