Very cool. I really enjoy this game and find it's not easy at all! After a few turns when the Somalis begin coming out of the woodwork and coming at you from all directions you can really feel the oppressiveness of it all. Your Delta team should have been a casualty on that first assault and not pinned as it was an assault! On and I'm pretty sure convoy units are placed IN the base first and string out from there. In this game, like you said and like what really happened over there, things can and do go downhill right off the bat.

At about 7:00 my understanding is that the Somali unit shouldn’t have been placed in the same area as either a UN unit or casualty (per top of page 5 of rulebook). Maybe my understanding is incorrect, but I’m having trouble with this rulebook, so I’m trying to watch some play-throughs to get a better idea about how to play this.

On the Somali attack on the Delta unit in Turn 1: if it's an assault, why did the UN unit get flipped/pinned instead of placed as a casualty?

Was looking forward to being able to buy this from a Swedish game store, but it ended up the same price as Mr. President, and it feels like a lot less for the money. :( But I get why some games are a bit pricey, with low volumes produced and all that... it's just unfortunate.

Interesting that whether on the road or in the buildings there appeared to be no difference in combat resolution. Being a newbie to wargames I am looking for simple and easy but that might be a bit to "simple".

It's abstracted and when you play you realize, regardless, that US forces have a massive firepower difference between the Somalis who are only trying to rush you, get on top of you, and keep assaulting wave after wave. It's gets incredibly intense REALLY fast. This game isn't easy to win but it relatively easy to learn and play. And actually I do think it's a good game for a wargaming newbie. It's just a different feel than other more complex wargames.
