I noticed that this is EXACTLY the same game as the ps2 version of F1 2001 from EA, just with the 2002 cars... Well done EA

Even back in the day they were reusing the same game again and again. If you looked at NASCAR, FIFA and the others you notice it too. I'm so glad that Sony picked up the license those days, F1 03 to 06 were very solid games

@@thesfdoctor3603 Shame they went to Codemasters... At least the Sony games were always AAA and glitch/bug free + the career mode was actually worth playing.

It's a bit of an odd one, F1 2001 never came out on Xbox in PAL regions, and this version of F1 2002 came out a lot earlier than the PS2 version, This game is really like an F1 2001.5, where they took F1 2001, fixed a lot of the issues it had on PS2, gave it a performance boost, and added the 2002 cars. What's weird is this came out so early in the year that a lot of the cars, liveries, and driver helmets don't quite match real life, and are instead based of concepts, and what was shown pre-season. We also get old Hockenheim because the new layout wasn't finished during development.

I remember ea sports f1 2001 and that was and still is one of my all time favourite games sadly I never got to play 2002 but the great thing is I still have my ps2 so I could get both games

I remember on the PS2 you’d use the analog sticks for throttle/brake, Xbox controller was almost ahead of its time by putting them on the triggers. Loved the challenge modes and the idea behind it letting you drive with less driver aids once certain challenges were completed

Only thing you could do as a "setup" on xbox was either dry or wet tyers. 😂
