Seeing all the beautiful games built in Godot is extremely inspiring! Made me realize that it's not about the tool, but the mastery over the tools that allows for great work.

I think what Godot - users need, is some 1. good examples, 2. talk about price, and 3. perhaps the fame / marketing aspect, what is reasonable, are there some good examples, of what Godot could be about, play them, talk about them, talk about reasonable prices, or, respectful marketing, yet ' potent ', etc . . Really enjoy listening to this channel, I find it's a voice of reason, and, also some inspiration, don't always know what I'm doing, but I try, and, also hope others benefit, it's I think a blessing, that people in the community help each other, find the difficult balance, between being creative, or, make content, and the bigger world, how to publish, also monetize stuff . . That discussion is long over-due, imo, bec. the Godot - community don't know 1. the amount of money, that is sensible, also nice, to take for projects, esp. long-term, or, really big one's, 2. how much fame, maybe the word is ' glory ', or sort-of renown, is just a good thing, is good for the maker, or team, and, sets a positive example, while being about succes, a modest dev - life . . So, thanks for opening the discussion, and, I can't wait to see what you agree on, also, what the community thinks . . It's time to set Godot ' free ', however in modest terms, acceptable succes, and, I think the kind of life one can have as a Godot - dev, could, and should be 1. sufficient, 2. worth working towards, 3. be sensible, and, 4. have a view not just to money, or status, but thinking of the community, while excelling, making even amazing art, and, contributing to the world, even the modern culture, in the best way, etc . .

After much thinking, also listening to channels like this, that I find can help me sometimes understand what I don't ' fully ' get, about dev, I think it's nice, also how the Godot - community sort-of helps each other, fixes mistakes others makes, finds most positive light, and, the ' best ' practice, so on . . I think, at least for me, the best case is to be an indie - dev, and, I think the Godot community, that maybe focuses bit too much on free stuff, sort-of the 'anti-sponsored' stuff, shouldn't learn from big media, but, very easily could find a future, among AA - AAA (??) indie titles . . I follow some channels, for best indie games, and, I think the modest, yet quite nice money, in the indie - dev world, atm, is what the Godot community could aspire to, the ' positive ' example, I think we need to find some titles, that the Godot community could maybe be inspired to, talk about even what prices are fair, how much 'creative', or perhaps media work is worth, it's difficult to do 1. quality, and, 2. scale / scope, takes sometimes months, or years . . I think, a little money could inspire, perhaps even motivate Godot - community, to strive bit higher, also get through tough problems, during a dev - project . .

there is no rule that everything godot related has to be free its just in the spirit to have everything open source (and free). there are plenty of paid godot games, and in terms of creativity cruelty squad was a giant hit, since it was basically made to be unapealing

So, keep talking about this, I think more Godot - users need to understand, that between making simply non - profit, and the 'commercial' stuff, there's a point, called indie - dev, where there is modest succes, some fame, and, some nice goals, perhaps for fulfilment, even financial . . I think that's the ' future ', of the engine, no harm would happen, from people doing that, and, the people that 1. talk about it, and 2. make those games, help create the future of Godot, or, the community . . . However, I don't know, nice to hear what people think, esp. in the Godot community, I think we need to set people ' more ' free, yet keep it sensible, etc respectable . .

Will there be at least something similar to an unreal 4.X shader for hair and skin - is this extremely important for creating games of the new generation? For me its main question

We need to talk about something, that could benefit Godot, cc, or MIT universes, that are very attractive, that people can make content, publish, monetize . . Over time, everybody wins . . Godot gets more pro - workers, the quality of art, also content increases, people hear about Godot, anyway trying to make something like that, if you have any ideas, or criticism, #thx . .

yeeeesh. That first game is 99% ugly post-processing effects by weight, good lord. A few of the games on this list suffer from that "coat everything in vaseline and crank up the contrast" problem, but the first has it the worst.

@@PlayWithFurcifer I was just gonna leave a joke response, but actually no. I'll respond to this seriously. I hope you understand that I'm not complaining just to be negative. I don't tolerate sneering obnoxiousness from someone presuming to know who I am from a KZbin comment. I KNOW how hard it is so code effects like that, I know exactly how much effort it takes. That's _why_ I mention it. It looks like someone was blown away by how much they could do in shaders, then tried to do _everything_ in shaders. Like someone that realizes you can make a cake shaped like anything with fondant. Except fondant isn't cake, too much makes people nauseous, it feels fake. The reason you got so mad at me for saying this is because 1) I probably sounded like I don't know what I was talking about from such a short post, and 2) you know your game looks like that too.
@PlayWithFurcifer
@PlayWithFurcifer 2 жыл бұрын
@@incorporealnuance You are aware of the irony here, right? You say i can not judge you from that comment, yet you think you know how the devs operate from a short segment. You also assume im mad at you from a single sentence. Its so funny that people like you are eager to dish out critisim, but can not stand getting critizized :) Some people like that style, other dont. You are not the judge of beauty in this world
@incorporealnuance

@@PlayWithFurcifer What made you think _I_ was mad :0? When I call your _response_ snide, it's not because I got Angry, it's because I though it was worth it to put the record straight. I see that kind of passive-agressive put-down all the time from people who think they know what they're talking about. Do you know how to write a shader? Totally. Design a game? From what I can tell, absolutely. You ain't an expert in everything though. The aesthetics of the games I mentioned, are (in my opinion) Not Great. No accounting for _taste,_ sure, I'll give you that one. If you want _specifically_ why I dislike it, it's because I think it will age poorly. It's so overdone it looks like it's trying too hard, like those Xbox live arcade minecraft clones that put guns, HD textured high-polygon models, and extra dragons in for no reason other than they thought it was cool. Too much focus on the tiny details and not enough on how all of it looks on the screen at once. I'm not sure why you think I can't "take criticism"- you haven't _criticized_ anything about me besides the tone I took with you.
@PlayWithFurcifer

@@incorporealnuance "haven't criticized anything about me besides the tone I took with you." - and yet your two walls of text seem awefully offended. Please read your post again. It is very agressive, and needlessly rude. And this is nothing i am willing to leave uncommented in my space.

If possible, could you make a video, with your thoughts, on making a cc universe, what is best for the artists, need some advice . . . I've tried to make so, people can make content, studios, even if people want a Kickstarter . . The only rule is they make something that 'fits' the universe, and, respect the rules, sort-of try to add to the universe when they're done, or, want to work on something else . . One can also join a group of cc writers, that help write the big universe, make something free, each of them can make a Patreon, and get donations, for instance if they write a small book, or, a pack, of amazing art . . #egyptian #greek #aztec #nordic . . What is the best way to make a cc series, that could attract the industry, small, or perhaps medium - sized companies, get them to consider Godot, and, get a start in the industry that way, what ideas do you get, or inspirations, so Godot benefits, artists get a positive deal, and, cc workers, contributors have a place, where they can always make cool stuff, express their sentiments, make good stories, that make the universe better, or, maybe more coherent, so it's even easier for artists, devs . .
