These robot vacuum cleaners are so mysterious to me...I can't figure out how it docks, nor the algorithm it uses to clean. So many sensors, so much going on. I am glad you opened it up for us. Thank you.

I'm not sure about the cleaning algorithm.... I think this one just rolls around randomly and bumps into many things. I tried it in my bedroom and it slmost broke a mirror. Any loose cables on the floor are also a no-go.

when i was younger I used to take apart vcr and video recorder sets/stereo systems and the like and was always fascinating to see what went on inside. I too used to keep bits for projects, I guess I figured one day id build a robot (never did haha) it's amazing how complicated the circuitry is when you study it closely.

@Wilbur Helget wooow! I'm sure it isn't a giant scam! I'll get my dick out and stick it in the electronical hole right now

Interesting tear down as a junior computer scientist, I was able to recognise quite a lot of what the circuit board and sensors are doing BTW If the inflared led is used for the docking station it would be exceptionally poor and cheap robotic hoover because an IR led has to be within line of sight, I would probably say the software creates a map and the white button like thing at the top uses bled to scan the room to create a map of the room and marking where the docking station is im confused however where the battery is (not got to the end of the video but so sad I'm 3/4 of the way through) i take it the piezo speaker is in the event that it's full or to beep based on control presses i like the led control panel with the 7 segments mounted on the back of the control panel

When people tear down stuff they often seem surprised how few electronic components are there, but all the missing stuff and a lot more is often in the one IC that they are looking at. I wonder how many pages the data sheet is for the ST micro controller just for all the peripherals it contains, never mind the CPU core it self. The other thing you can't see is is the program running on the device which is at least as important as the mechanical hardware and electronics. Thanks for posting the video.

+Coolkeys2009 In machines like this the software is the most important part. It decides if a device is easy to use or not. And it decides if the device works properly or if it does silly things.

chrigel1234 Hardware vs software. I'm including the internal design of the processor and all of the electronics included as well as the mechanical design. I believe good solid reliable good performance hardware is required to build the software on to, Just because most of the hardware designed into micro-controller works flawlessly and is very affordable I don't think it should be over looked someone had to design it. There's probably more logic gates than lines of code, certainly more transistors in just the micro. Anyway this is just my opinion.

Sehr interessant. Und jetzt alles in umgekehrter Richtung wieder zusammen bauen. Bin geradezu verrückt nach den Robis, repariere und sammle sie und habe mehrere in meiner Flotte.

Hi, Do you still have the parts you got from the robot? I have the same model and would like to have some spare parts if you don't need them

I'm disappointed at the motor they picked for this machine, though, I did have a feeling they're not be much to these cleaners.

It's clearly not made or designed in Germany! Haha. At least yours has screws my LG ROBOKING Has all clips holding it together. It does however have a lithium ion battery. But I believe it has a lot of hair caught around the wheels. One good thing is the brushes have screws to allow removal of hair and dust from behind them.
