This is a great video. I wish there was more talk about what it feels like to hit the ball. Like is the ball just a consequence of the swing path kinda like golf or are you deliberately hitting the ball and shooting for a feeling you can replicate time and time again. Help!

All the butt handels will point in a little bit of a different direction through the ball based on the grip. The full western grip in your videos pointed in the same direction. Others don’t. If you get players loose in the beginning of the swing and their grip is not to tight the lag will happen naturally. The biggest problem as it is in golf is to release the lag too early and then players are flipping the toe at the ball. Which by the way is much more prevalent with a western grip. Hence why I don’t like to teach it. Or try to change it if I get the student early enough.

Saw you guys on tv at the citi open with the rublev-tiafoe match!😅
@marco119977333 ай бұрын
I stalked them at the event and stole a selfie with them. (Nate+Scott, I'm the one who had the sign with Kokkinakis on one side and Big Foe on the other 😂). Very cool guys, we took the pic had a quick chat...even shared a laugh about their beards lol. It is nice to see these guys keeping up with these events. They don't only teach the sport, they are passionate about it and attend events anytime they can. That, IMO, speaks volumes. Thank you guys! -Marco (from Baltimore)

Power is from body and arm speed!!! Knee hip and shoulder rotation together quickly, not all players can do it, hand creates the spin on contact,

Was a heck of a match! Shame Big Foe couldn't get it done against Korda. Fan of Korda as well though!

Thanks for the video. When I hold the racket looser I have a problem with consistency…do you have any secrets to holding the racket loosely, but keeping control/consistency?

I was wondering: do you personally add weight to your Blade (as in lead tape, silicone in the handle, etc).
@Playyourcourt3 ай бұрын
There was a time I added lead to all my rackets at 3 & 9 and even some in the handle but unfortunately due to arm issues I'm been more comfortable playing with the stock weight.these days. Hope this helps!

Could you please explain one thing for me? At 4:25 when you show the swing you elbow is very in and is somewhere just next to the solar plexus. Where as all the player shorts you are showing have their elbows on the side to the right from their ribs. Is their swing actually different from what you show?
@Playyourcourt3 ай бұрын
Happy to help.. You want to maintain at least 6 inches of space between the elbow and solar plexus. The actual space will vary however according to style and the type of ball one is receiving. Those that hit with a straight arm at contact will have a greater distance between the elbow and solar plexus.

Great video. Watch this video and go hit 10.000 forehands. Once you have the theory its really about getting the 'feel' of it and then developing muscle memory. This applies to all tennis strokes. Or else, just go play padel 😂

With kids I tend to have them use the "camera" or "flashlight" to ball and mention pat dog for visuals strings down. Swing like a ferris wheel not like a merry go round.

So maintain a loose grip is key, do you tighten at contact? Loved this video, going to watch it 10 times and love all your content! 🙏
@affluencethirdy48943 ай бұрын
Not only loose grip but coiling, store up energy from the ground then upper body first then racket will lag naturally if you hold it loosely.
@tuhlunksss3 ай бұрын
yes, slight squeeze tighter at contact

Lag is not the right word considering what you’re trying to explain. It should be racket flip instead.
