You’d be shocked at how Vets are treated, some choose the streets because they feel SAFER HOMELESS than in their families and communities. My dad is a Vet, he has a Veteran’s group that he attends and they look out for one another. If one of them goes off the radar he and his buddies go out looking, they pulled one guy out from under a bridge because his wife was steeling his benefits and kicked him out. Another guy was locked in his basement by his adult daughter and her guy, given a bucket, a pile of towels, and a utility sink, while the daughter and boyfriend took his checks and got high off his meds. The government is just as fucked up, my dad needs glasses and the VA will send his anti depressants and painkillers through the mail but not his glasses. They’ll ship drugs but not glasses so he can see, that’s just stupid.

Speaking as an Air Force veteran, I totally understand the sentiment that no veteran should be homeless. But the military does have a program where they walk you step by step in creating a budget, financial plan, resume and teach you skills to be successful. And there are nearly endless benefits that every honorably discharged veteran can take advantage of. The vets that end up homeless typically are discharged other than honorable, have mental issues or a drug problem. Typically, most veterans are able to transition to a successful life. I have to pinch myself every morning when I wake up because of how blessed I am in life. And that's all thanks to my service in the military. Even more so because I am an immigrant. Just thought I'd let you both know that the military doesn't just cut their veterans loose with no plan. Keep making these awesome videos, much love!

But I gotta say, as I smoke my after work bong, this former marine found something very genuine and relaxing about the two of you.
