Mrs. Laura could still use some instructions. I recall a lady up in age, where she talked about how hard she was on her children. Where she told how she found some books at the library after most were gone. I guess she applied it with my youngest auntie still at home. But she says how she wished shed known these things when she was raising them. Where that probably would have been the 60's. This is 60 years later where there's more available, as well as on DVD. Then Mrs. Laura really could use some "Me" time. Where she really should go take an introductory flying lesson at one of the airport's around there. Safer than any car! There's car crashes every day, where they're not reported because there isn't enough room to publish them all. Planes, they're at least 2000 feet apart, but usually much further. Patty Wagstaff shows how it's done. It's really simple, where one has to understand, a plane is designed to fly! Other words the curvature on the top of the wing creates a suction that lifts it in the air. It's action called lift, but air splits on the leading edge, front of the wing, where going across the curvature is a longer ways than air flow on bottom, so it has to speed up. Which creates lift. Where a person needs to have me time and needs to have fun, other they get grouchy, irritable, things that wouldn't normally matter become the source of an arguments. It's good to see her though as she seems content and happy for the most part, but we all put on our best when in front of others, many do. Then some, well....... Which Mrs. Laura gets her license to fly, shed feel better about herself as well as saving money on travel as travel time is shortened being as the crow flies. Unless they oppress women and their pleasures like many religions do. Then a plane is cheaper than a car many times but by FAA regulations, things have to be changed out regularly, to stay airworthy. Everyone click like so we can see Mrs. Laura fly with the angels, where we can call them training wings for the afterlife, 😉.

Having just spent 2 weeks at the Danthonia Bruderhof I found nothing but positivity. The children and even the adults are shielded from the challenges (mainly self induced) by the outside world all the time. Watching and participating in Bruderhof life where everyone worked cohesively and I guess it really brought out the old adage that those who work together and pray together stay together. I just wish young Christian families would take a closer look and get off the horrendous mortgage and other costs treadmill and see how life is without those major stress and anxiety challenges in a Bruderhof

How very thoughtless of you to say.... Even the most disgusting cults will appear to be sunshine and rainbows a mere two weeks in; I am indeed speaking from experience as well. Furthermore, Christianity is one of the three worst belief systems ever spawned. Take a dose of responsibility and hard reality once in a while, please and thank you.

@@ckblackwoodmusic I went there after visiting the Bruderhof 3 times previously. 2 of these visits were unannounced so there was no possibility of "dressing things up for me". Each of us have our own beliefs and without these we are nothing, we are without direction, boundaries or meaning. Christianity gives us these but as I said each to our own. I will not try and convince you or decry your beliefs, please don't do this to mine.

@@geoffreykirton2578 I'm very much without a belief system and my life has direction! That's a typical 'Without god, one can't have morals'-esque strawman. Also, you're suggesting they'd have to dress things up to keep you from seeing the whole picture?

I always come here and feel better 🥰 It has been particularly hard with covid because the way we usually deal with a collective threat is to come together and visit and hug and just be near one another. We've had to be inventive to keep our vulnerable safe. We use humour a lot in our family, send real letters and silly little gifts, phone one another most days and we're even all reading the same book just now and seem to have an unplanned book group :) Much love to everyone feeling vulnerable xx

Oh to be a child again lolol...that horse brings back so many memories...the little kids get so much joy out of it and its priceless to watch them. You can see the dream of riding a real horse play out on their faces. Thank for the laughter and I could picture you running up and down the hallway with the horse lol! And yes we really do have to remember that little ears pick up on everything especially when the adults are chatting.

I agree there is a balance, I had a friend whose son came home so worried about climate change and rising sea levels that he wanted to move to a two story house so they could keep all the special stuff upstairs, at the time they lived in a single storey house. She was a Christian and explained about God never flooding the whole world and that it wouldn't happen tomorrow. Children don't always understand time frames and they certainly don't get relative risk, everything is a risk if you climb a tree you could fall if you go fishing you might drown if you cross a road etc etc. We can't afford risk but we need to keep it in proportion we shouldn't tempt God by being foolish and relying on him to save us, but neither should we stop doing reasonable stuff just to be safe

I like to say you can see the quality of a character by how people interact to stuffed animals, it frees people to allow themselves to have simple pure fun and live in the moment if there's still pure joy left. I just love to see the inner child get wild when people interact with stuffed animals. I always felt it a pity how so many people allow themselves to become bitter or numb whenever times get tough and let fear of disappointment get in the way of joy and hope, a strong person is determined by how they get back up and not let it knock them down and kids still have that fantastic ability to feel the feelings and not be self conscious if we let them. Because while feelings are hard suppressing them is harder in the long term if we don't learn contentment and how to be able to enjoy the little moments in the imperfect now without having to give up on striving for more. I consider myself a normative realist, accept and understand the reality for what it is , see the potential it has with boundless optimism and understand to operate in it to create the vision slow in a lasting way and we can only do that starting with ourselves choosing to be better and be kind to show it's possible and then we can help others on their journey to be compassionate especially with themselves, we're still imperfect humans after all.

This is a very important area of child rearing, bringing them up with a balance of trust in God and as much knowledge of the world outside their safe family 'nest' as they are able to bear at their stage of development. I am glad you have raised the subject.

Yes, people often think adults are to teach children. I often wonder if it's the other way around...at the very least... mutual! What I got to learn with young children is how much fun it is to make bubbles with spit and how exhilarating it is to roll down a hill in the grass, and the list goes on, except all in the body of an adult as well!

I have had a hard time trying to make a donation to your place, money or bitcoin- where online or by mail? How can we give donations to "The Mount" or you guys or for your Church? Guess that is a good question, are you a Church? Knowing money goes to good things makes us feel better than giving it to our Church. Our Church rates you by how much you give and your status. That is why I hate Churches where they just line their pockets of the rich leaders most of the time. Our Catholic Church said we owed them so much money, more than I lost in the stock market the last two weeks, which was a huge amount of money. How they get hold of our tax payment data is beyond me but they got hold of everyone at the Church. So, most all of us give nothing now, lol. Let them pay for their own pedophile lawsuits, lol. They apologized blaming it on the Pope made them steal our tax returns! Sounds like "Ripley's believe it or not?" lol. It is too little too late, damage has been done to us little people. This last week in the stock market was a train wreck. Wish I could have sold it and give to a good organization. So many true stories I could tell like Liberal places that support abortions in the name of Salvation Army expecting my brother and me to give $10,000 each like we did last year, but now it is going to teaching immoral stuff with supporting CRT theory in schools. Liberals have gone way to far! Boy they were mad! We didn't give Salvation Army money this year, actually came to our front door but I am not olaying this "For over 400 years of reparations game..." Lol. Are you kidding? My brother in Virginia Beach, VA and us in RI are trying to find places where charity donations will be used for good purposes... really that is very hard when we all work for a living and run businesses. We thought of Bruderhof? Bob & Karen
