Part of the problem is the anime hasn't really gone into detail about the Millis faith. The Millis faith strictly forbids polygamy/polyamory. Polygamy isn't really illegal anywhere in the world there, but anyone in a polyamorous relationship of any kind won't exactly be at home near the capital of Millis. Norn took after Zenith and both of them are Millis faithful. The only other named Millis faithful shown at this point in the anime are Cliff and the two characters in the Eris goblin slaying OVA, Therese Latria (who is actually Rudeus' aunt/Zenith's sister, which the anime completely skipped that interaction) and the Millis Miko/Blessed Child. For the Asuran nobility/royalty (the Greyrat families are the most powerful of the noble families, the Asura family being royalty), polygamy or having mistresses/concubines is common - we got a glimpse of how Sauros would go at it with the beastfolk maids. As a Greyrat, Paul isn't unfamiliar with the practice, or even morally opposed to it. The problem was Zenith told him that if he was to be in a relationship with her, he had to promise her not to go after other women, and he knew what he was getting into with Zenith being Millis nobility and religious - he broke that promise. Rudeus doesn't want a repeat of the Paul and Lilia fiasco, which is why he tells Sylphy he wouldn't pull something like that.

Instead of blindly charging in through an S ranked Labyrinth, adventurers would rather take things slow, make paths for themselves, clear the way, then recuperate when there's time, and then go back again going through the path they already made.

You still can't help but root for Rudy to keep his promise to himself not to cheat. Even if the show is based on medieval times, Rudy's originally from our modern day, so you could easily argue that he should follow higher moral standarts. It would be such a dissapointment should he show a weak spine and give in to his animal instincts. Would kind of feel like a cheap shot to gain more popularity from the teenage boy audience while unintentionally sacrificing the show's core mature viewers.

3:32 the anime design for Rudeus doesn't really reflect the LN design very well. He's supposed to be nearly as tall as Paul is, and his face is supposed to look more like Paul's too (it's pretty noticeable on the LN volume 12 cover and color inserts) - also why the whole Norn seeing Rudeus as Paul for a second happens. 4:17 this is a translation thing, they're talking about speaking formally and using honorifics like -san and so on, and he's telling her to stick with using "Rudy." Supposedly the Human language of that world has similarities to Japanese, so there's probably some equivalent to honorifics.

Of course they want to get Zenith as soon as possible but they’re being slow and methodical to make sure they are successful. Keep in mind they had been there for like months before Rudy came and it was a disaster. Rushing could get them killed or trapped like Roxy. Also, they left immediately after getting Roxy because she was in no condition to continue after being there for a month. She would have been a liability. They waited to go in until she was recovered because she’s one of their best people Also, in the LN, it’s mentioned that they spend days down there at any given time. Imagine the physical and mental exhaustion from that. Plus you have to resupply

About the party taking their time with the rescue, u have to remember this might be fantasy, but it is one close to reality. At any point, from any small mistake, one member of the party could loose their life. Remember, roxy was on the brink of death, she only survived out of luck, because rudy was there. And that happened from 1 wrong step she took on a magic circle trap.

And now it's come to bite him in the ass again. He is the only one in the party who can't see that Roxy is crushing on him. All he can see is her wanting to spend time with him, and his thoughts on the matter terminate there as it just means he gets to spend more time with his master. 7:30 She's blushing since the man she saw rescuing her was the man of her dreams, and now she can't take that lens off when looking at Rudeus. She's of a long-lived race anyway, so human children grow up fast for her. Rudeus' denseness prevents him even from seeing the parallels between that shopping trip and his date with Sara. 10:08 that sword speech isn't in the book. But it makes things clearer about what he wants to say there. And since he doesn't want to lower party morale at that moment, it would be a very open discussion about how Rudeus is already married, and this would've broken Roxy's heart. But by the look of things, Paul approves of Rudeus getting together with Roxy. Hell, he might approve of Rudeus getting three wives, since he was already OK with the idea of Sylphie and Eris marrying Rudeus before TP1. Paul had signed off on Philip having Rudeus marry Eris and becoming a Boreas, and he followed how Zenith and Lilia educated Sylphie to become Rudeus' wife.

As I recall Philip had also written to tell Paul that Eris and Rudy had fallen in love with one another as a means to get Paul's approval, not that Paul is aware of the truth. That said Paul did assume Eris to be the wife until Rudy corrected him, and had Eris not left like she did she probably would be his wife instead.

Roxy is from a tribe that lives in a small village and their life spans are somewhere around two hundred years. It is quite possible for someone who was an adult in that tribe to witness a birth and an appropriate time later, to marry that person. The small number of choices of possible mates and the long lifespan makes a culture where it is inevitable that marriages won't be just between people of the same general age group. So when Roxy said, "wait ten years and say that to me again," way back in season one, episode two, it was probably a natural response to such thoughts from people in her own tribe. Add to that the fact that he saved her in the same way as her fantasy, and that she and he are paired up in the party, forced to work closely with each other and rely on each other, she may have started liking him without regard to how she felt about him at five years old. That said, I think Rudy has matured quite a lot from the early episodes. Then he was stealing her panties, trying to catch glimpses of her changing and trying to peek at her crotch during lessons. Now, I think he just wants the attention of the teacher that he's always respected and revered. The thought about sitting her in his lap notwithstanding, I don't think he is considering cheating on Sylphie with her.

If it makes you feel better since her race lives about 3 times longer than humans you'd normally divide a long lived species age by how many times longer they can live to see how old they are developmentally (that's the usual rule of thumb anyway). In this case she's 50-ish so you'd divide it by 3 and you get around 16 y/o, which tracks to how she normally acts (for creatures that live 1000's of years it's usually by around the hundreds when they become the equivalent of teenagers lol, just remember it's all fiction and you'll be fine). Also remember the age of adulthood in this world is 15 (likely because the average life-span of a Human is overall shorter). And I don't know why people are bringing up the potential polygamy thing either since you didn't really even comment on it.

I am talking about the intention behind the story, not the story itself.

Sylphie maintained a cold, hard, professional demeanour outside of Ariel's group and Rudeus, like the lethal bodyguard with a double-digit killcount that she is. With Rudeus even as Fitz, her speech and behavior were soft and open to the point that he couldn't help but become attracted to her. And the plan to reveal herself to him as well as their night together were thanks to Sylphie's drive to be with him. And now Roxy's an infatuated schoolgirl in Rudeus' presence.

the cat looking at you like " you ok?" haha, remember in the first season Roxy tells Elinalise how her ideal partner is, she has a fantasy that at some point she would be trapped in a dungeon and a strong but innocent looking man would save her, theyll fall inlove and complete the dungeon together and thats what happened so she fell at first sight, also take into consideration that this series wants you to feel the way you feel so is doing a good job haha if you keep your mind fixed on our sense of morale youll have a hard time acepting some plot points of the story, not our world, not our rules. The thing with why they take some time here is because Zenith has been there for 6 years now, they explored that dungeon for 6 months already and a little mistake cant trap you there for a month like in happened to Roxy, so rushing things is not a good idea

In the LN Rudy is as tall as Paul and with the face of a grown ass man, the anime literally makes him just a taller 5 year old version of himself, but the LN he looks like a different character which is why Roxy didn't recognize him

I'd like to point out that Rudius and Roxy are actually closer in age (if you count his past life) to each other than any other characters in the series. That being said, it is still a little weird. Also the fact that he's already married makes it a little weird. There is a in-lore reason for why the story is this way. I'm surprised you're actually hung up on Roxy's perspective because that's the one that personally makes the most sense to me. Her race lives for a long time. Remember that her parents are hardly middle-aged despite being quite old by human terms. Roxy is around 30 something, but she's actually around a teenager in human terms and hasn't changed a bit since she first met Rudy. From her perspective, I imagine, it's like two different people between the kid she tutored and the young man she sees here. She's frozen in time compared to humans, so going from meeting a human child to a human just about as physically mature as her would have to be jarring for someone who stays the same person for decades. It's tough for me to watch too, but mostly because it's hard to separate the stuff that's typical anime nonsense and what's actually part of the world's culture. See, an anime character in a normal world might mention a concubine, and I'd roll my eyes as always, but when Sylphie mentions it, it's because that's legitimately how this world runs, like a king in the medieval period messing with someone on the side in full view of everyone or taking two wives because he can. I have to give this show some leeway SOMETIMES because I wouldn't blink if a medieval show had a character doing the same thing as Paul's suggesting, so it's not really logical of me to cringe at it here. It's an anime for sure, but you kind of have to forget that in some scenarios because it's written with much more care than most anime are by a long shot.

" That's exactly what raced through Rudeus' mind as Sylphie revealed herself: the clingy crybaby vs the reliable senior. He'd already fallen in love with the senior. In comparison to Sylphie, Roxy had the advantage of being penpals with Rudeus for years, and she could've sworn she was reading letters from a 40-something. After that she heard and kept in mind the stories about Dead End, until she learned it was Rudeus' party all along. She'd been hearing about Rudeus for years after their last meeting, maybe even seeing Paul read one or more of Rudeus' letters and him telling how the boy's doing. Sylphie had her initial friendship with Rudeus to instill her love for him, and a year or so getting closer to him at uni, always being more impressed by his drive, talent, and abilities. But between those moments she had nothing but her own will and yearning for him. So in terms of building up emotional weight, Roxy has more material to work on than Sylphie. Roxy was thoroughly impressed by his talent and that impression was only deepend as he got a job she was rejected from and how he was still seeking to further his studies. Post-teleportation she figured out that not only was he an accomplished adventurer, he'd -tamed- befriended the boogieman. And now that he's an adult, the first thing she saw was the man of her dreams coming to save her. It was love at first sight with that man, and only then learning it's her student who'd done nothing but continually impress her for years. So love at first sight and then realizing just how much of a jackpot she's hit. But she doesn't know he's taken. Paul picked up on it and decided that she shouldn't know this until things have calmed down, as the news would likely break her heart if not handled properly, with one solution being that Rudeus would take Roxy in addition to Sylphie. One can debate polygamy's wish fulfillment in these stories, and even if it is so, it's still part of the setting's established culture. Sylphie's already shown signs of expecting Rudeus to get it on with someone else, as well as tolerance to the idea; Roxy's been a valuable part of Paul's team as well as almost a big sister figure in the household for Rudeus, so seeing her hearbroken is something he likely wouldn't want to happen. So easing into the dynamic where Rudeus can follow his footsteps and have both women he cares about as his wives would be a win-win in Paul's books. Elinalise's position is the one where there's a conflict of interest, as she's a close friend of Roxy's and is Rudeus' grandmother-in-law. TL;DR polygamy is usually mere wishfulfillment in fantasy, but MT is a case where it's set up way ahead and given justification even before it potentially happens.
