For people who really wanted them to kiss, my headcanon is this, right before they got back to the upper shore, there is a scene where Shorekeeper's Butterfly landed on a Blake Bloom, which symbolizes Rover (Black main color with a hint of purple), right after the two of them dissolves into black and blue butterfly. So yeah, knowing how butterflies germinates flowers, they did kiss lol.

I have this great idea for a gacha game. Y'all you're gonna love this. It's got this story where two characters who have some kind of emotional bond JUST KISS ALREADY PLEASE YOU'RE ALREADY FLIRTING. Also I love the fact that whatever name we give to the Rover is their canonical name. Now all of those dialog choices that have you pick between introducing yourself as either your chosen name or as Rover make sense.

This patch was fantastic in setpiece, cinematography, music and chracter design. The plot was kinda trope-y but if you dont walk into this expecting the level of plot as say penacony- but instead accept it as a casual feel-good love story (romantic or familial) then you are gonna have a good time. I love how much care Kuro puts into its work and while i detest Handwavium (of which was too prevalent in this patch) I can confidently say this patch ranks just below if not equal to 1.1 for me.

JUST KISS Me: Considering the Rover is her mentor and the one who taught her how to process emotions, I'm not sure that that sounds very wholesome. It feels like the Rover almost approaches a parental role with her. I never got romance vibes from this, as an older brother it felt a lot like the mentorship I have with my sister. If they had kissed it would have felt super weird to me. I just seriously do not understand how this is a romantic love story, why does everyone insist on that when they are SO mentor/guardian and student/disciple coded?

Everyone has different views of their relationship. Their relationship can be interpreted as anything the player wants unless stated by the game itself that they see each other as mentor and student. Personally, their story did seem like it was heading the romance route, especially during the end when they refer to each other by terms of endearment. I dont ship them, but they are obviously close to eachother. You see them as mentor and student, other sees them as a couple or infatuated with eachother. You cant expect others to have the same pov as you as not all relationships between two close people would always be 'sibling' coded if you what I mean

In addition to playing through the story I’ve watched some playthrus and I still think the story is confusingly told. I hope they improve in the next one because more I think about 1.3’s story the less I like it 😩
