Christofer Ding I had just started watching this show recently, and this was one of the first episodes that I saw. At the time, I wasn't sure if the 'something else' thought was intended by the show, or if it was accidental, and they just wanted to show Raj as a sensitive guy who likes to cry at sappy movies. Now that I have watched a few episodes and know more about Raj, I think that shit was intentional :)

Hardly so in comedies. I've seen it happen in plenty of tv shows, comics, webcomics, even. They start out as incredibly funny because they are simple, then with time the authors decide they are Shakespeare and try to add complexity to the characters and story while keeping it funny, making it actually pretty boring. Sometimes less is more. The Peanuts stayed great, because Snoopy didn't suddenly start to develop as a character, he was just the same old Snoopy.
