All people commenting they hate how Sheldon changed& it's not good etc, simply don't understand what writing&telling the story is abt. It's called character development. If Sheldon remained the same all 11 years : 1. It would be boring af (you would see) & fictional characters cannot stay the same, its main rule you learn when studying writing in general/screenwriting, coz that's how life is, no one stays the same & like they say, art imitates life 2. Every show/movie/book needs drama & drama is caused only by changes in relationships, personality maturation etc, 3. It simply wouldn't be believable, because in the end even nerds (&yes even ppl with Aspergers like Sheldon) can find love and start a family as time passes by, especially like Sheldon! Let's be honest here& look beyond show comedic essence, so ''nerds being awkward'' - Sheldon is brilliant, really handsome : very tall, cute face etc, has a high social position and a successful career. So it would be not believable if he didn't get a girlfriend in the end. Also, this storyline allowed to fully show how Sheldon becomes a man, how he frees himself from his many fears and obsessions, thus, thanks to this, writers created a great, complicated psychological portrait of the character. Every story is a journey. And I love Sheldon journey, he is in fact the best developed Big Bang character & one of the greatest characters in history of popculture, because even if he matured, he is still Sheldon&has his ways. It's actually great writing. And yes, show is not as insanely funny as it was first 5-6 seasons, because it's simply material fatigue, like it happens with all long-runing shows. It's normal. Still Big Bang is great.

I also love how BBT breaks the stereotype of nerds and geeks being forever alone and never being able to get girls or get into serious relationships and especially how they showed that long lasting relationships and friendships take time and go through lots of ups and downs to get through everything together (This was especially true for Sheldon and Amy) and that there are rare true friends out there who accept you for you are completely but like romantic relationships, the long lasting friendships take time and will also go through up and downs (This was true for all the main characters becoming friends with Sheldon)

NatKK I know you're speaking towards other people's comments. But for me there is no problem with change and character development, but HOW they change. Every character has their flaws, it's nothing wrong with that. But there should be logical changes, changes that works with the story, that develops the character etc. For example they just drop Raj being shy toward girls. And the chemistry between Penny and Sheldon in early seasons is all about Sheldon being smart and Penny having social competence. In Pennys development she's getting smarter and finds it interesting with nerd stuff. With Amy and Bernadette that is strengthened. They come into some boys vs. girls thing that wasn't really present the same way in the beginning. I wonder what happened with Pennys aspirations in life. The Geek and Smart stuff she got from her friends, but she becomes this side character and we don't really get to see much of her interests and where she's heading. Has she found herself. Or is her only development that she got similar interests with the other guys. And I have similar issues with other characters.
