I love the Pleasure Beach and actually prefer paying for an unlimited ride wristband and I don't mind paying for passes as they've helped to keep troublemakers out. I actually go to BPB a lot more now than I used to - although it is sad that they've started destroying iconic old Blackpool rides for commercial ones (ie Goldmine vs Wallace & Gromit) - the trick to making the wristbands work in your favour is to make sure you get on as much as possible or look for the deals online

Yes, although as we saw from this prog that charging per ride did mean that JR probably took unnecessary risks just to get the rides open and earning money (the sandbags on the big one with a 49mph head wind), I agree that this wasn't the answer. This kind of system works elsewhere like in Alton Towers, but Alton Towers is self-contained and there is nowhere else you'd want to go outside the gates, whereas as Blackpool has many attractions. You can't just go for 2 rides any more... so I won't.

Amanda is slowly ruining the pleasure beach though I have to agree. If she hasn't got the money to put better/newer rides in then she should either find investors or sell. Not been a new thrill ride there for a number of years now. Most people who go to the pleasure beach could not care less about some arty farty ice show!! Shame really because the Pleasure Beach in the right hands would be the number one amusment park in the UK. As I have pointed out in another vids I don't think the pleasure beach would suffer like Alton Towers does for eg with height restrictions and surely that gives scope for bigger higher rollercoasters.
