Pleasure P and Static Major shared management. He claims him and Static wrote Lollipop. Pleasure also showed up on multiple Wayne songs during this period but he says his manager stole his portion of the writing credit which we display in this video

Glorilla better go check the credits on her songs to make sure Rex didn't slip his name in at the end of the list of names. 😂

We should keep in mind how notorius Birdman was back then. Ngs was coming up de*d & beat up. No one was speaking out against him. When Watne finally did his tour bus got sh0t up.

Birdman def did his share of dirt, but this one wasn’t on him. It’s the manager Rex Zamor that represented Static Major & Jim Jonsin (both worked on the song) and Pleasure P who’s claiming his portion was stolen by Rex.
@jollymolly25213 күн бұрын
It's most likely that Pleasure P "sold" his publishing rights to Zamor as part of his management contract. It's happened to a lot of huge rock stars that nobody would think had been conned like this - Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, John Fogerty, John Mellencamp. It used to be a pretty standard rip-off back in the day. It's really not too dissimilar to what Berry Gordy did with his Motown sweatshop in the '60s. He and staff writers wrote all the songs, got all the publishing credits and royalties. The artists ended up with next to nothing and were constantly on the road touring for their paychecks. That why artists who could write their own songs - like Marvin Gaye and Steven Wonder - eventually left Motown.

I agree! I don’t understand why they wait so long you’ve been grown and had the means of getting your dues the right way so to show up 20 years later drunk in a live from your phone? I don’t feel bad for some reason
@StillWaters1014 күн бұрын
@aron.michael Yup he probably has no proof or a claim. He probably was drunk when he signed his rights over for the song, probably did it for the free or for the low to be accepted and seem cool hoping Lil Wayne or whoever he gave it to ( if it was a mgr ) would swing back around and feel indebted to him and show him some love once it blew up by either giving him some more money, a job, or just put him on in some way. Thats if any of it is true to begin with. If its true, I wouldn't be surprised if he was paid a measly amount up front for it that he agreed to and is just mad he didnt know the business well enough at the time or have the guts to negotiate a better amount or better terms for it.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Pleasure is coming after a song that the primary song writer is not alive to defend himself! That’s what I don’t like! Pleasure was never so rich that he should have been comfortable ignoring 28 million! For over 16 years! And Pleasure P had a weird case once! And they were acting like all of Pretty Ricky was blood brothers, I didn’t know until the reality show that only two were. I was a real fan and even seen them in concert back in the day…What does your son just getting out of jail got to do with us? Or even you if he is grown? For those of us who aren’t big Wayne fans, Lolipop is one of the few we really like. Lol. So I know that song made a lot of money! This just was not bright. Maybe he panicked because of personal issues and made this dumb move. What excuse he has for waiting this long I can’t wait to hear. Drake wrote for Wayne, but that’s typical honestly. DJ Hed said that you always write for your mentor as a right of passage, then you get Artists and you get some assistance. He also said that music has been a collaborative process for a long time, it’s just been more hidden until more recent years when things have been being exposed. I’m not saying I agree with it, but ai believe it’s been this way for a while.

I can believe Pleasure P may have written with Static Major the hook or chorus. But he needs to go get him a lawyer. And take this to court. Wayne writes his own lyrics. And we have proof of this because that dude who found his old rap book. Is still tryna sell Lil Wayne's Rap notebook. Without Wayne's permission. So I don't doubt Wayne writes. Now he may actually accepts other people's hooks and chorus. But to say he don't write at all. I don't believe it.

Heh? Whet? 😂… he’s a rapper now? As in writing raps? Am I missing something? 😂… either way, it’s a great song… thank you I guess? But, we really need to stop with this “best rapper alive” narrative if these rappers aren’t even writing their own ish. Do any of these rappers write their own lyrics anymore? Have they ever? Now I’m concerned 🤔… 2024 is a portal of just “got damn” huh? 😂😂
@zingan.o.14354 күн бұрын
Not the Raps. Wayne wrote his own lyrics. Maybe the chorus or hook. But he needs to take it to court. If he trying to get publishing or royalties. Cause he ain't getting it from Wayne. 😅😂

That is 💯 false Lil Wayne writes his music. And there is actually proof of that. Seeing that his Rap book from Hurricane Katrina is still up for sell. Also Drake writes. But they both take hooks and chorus. Even reference tracks sometimes. As some artist do.....
