Widecombe is lovely, as are the entire Moors. Then again, I’m biased. My Mum is from Devon, and more of her family from Cornwall - yet another amazing place as you know. I was born, and still live in Scotland, where the scenery is just as breathtaking. I spent so much of my childhood chatting to the ponies, hoping they would take the carrot or sugar lump from me. If you sit quietly among them for as long as it takes, they reward you by graciously taking said offerings. It has been way too long since I last visited, but this was a pleasant reminder of years gone by. Thank you…

How wonderful! Devon, Cornwall and Scotland are all breathtaking. Do you have wild ponies up in Scotland? I’ve never tried feeding them, but it’s on my list! 🤗

@@LeslieStroz sadly no wild ponies, they are unique to Dartmoor. We do have red squirrels - given grey squirrel free areas in which they can thrive once more. We do have herds of deer that roam very very close to the single track roads, of which there are more of than can be imagined. I have been lucky enough to have been sitting on a rock in the middle of the Cairngorms when one of a pair of well protected golden eagles flew down to perch on the remains of an ancient drovers road. Scotland is so diverse, it can't truly be described, but rather needs experiencing. Bucket list!! ❤️

I love sepia or dark brown for landscapes. It’s not too overpowering the way black can be, and it reproduces the shadows nicely. 😊
