What a cool place!! Thanks for braving the uneven ground and taking us along on a virtual tour! You picked a GREAT spot to paint, and you did a great job capturing the rocks. I can see how the big rock would pose a huge challenge, and although I think it looked fine all along, your fix at the end made the whole painting balance out. Amazing job, as always!!

@@DQ_ArtGroupie it really was an amazing place! glad you enjoyed the virtual tour! thank you so much 🥰 yeah it could have just been that I was standing too close to the big rock in the first place to get it right, but I'm happy with it now that it's fixed! Thank you 😊

That was more than a rock it was rock n roll .guaranteed a few goannas and porcupines watched you paint .

You are always up to the challenge of painting complicated rocks but they always come out so realistic. So many details, I love the little trees also, very beautiful painting my dear. 👍😍

@@zoewhiteart7676 thanks Zoe 🥰 I use to avoid rocks because I didn't know how to paint them but I forced myself to practise and keep trying, now I love painting rocks. I do find subjects further away easier to paint than close ones. Thank you so much 😊

Oh wow! What an absolutely amazing garden of rocks! I can see how it would be hard to pick one spot to paint, and your choice was an excellent one! But what a challenging one as you had rock formations in the distance and the large formation up close. You figured it out and made it work, with a lot of extra effort! It’s always hard to have to go back into a painting and rework it…I definitely will overwork it! (I am a watercolor painter.) I also just wanted to say I got really worried when you talked about seeing a large snake. It’s so scary! And you were not close to medical help. I have grown up with the presence of snakes, especially rattlesnakes. I was bitten on my painting hand by a rattlesnake several months ago and it was not fun. I had checked for snakes before trimming flower bushes but obviously not well enough. Luckily, I got help & treatment quickly and have recovered close to 100%. Didn’t mean for this to be so long…🥴 Keep painting as you are so good at it, and be careful where there may be snakes.

@NancyTipton-u8e it really was a beautiful place 😍 thank you 😊 yes oh my goodness reworking paintings after is always way harder than on location. And yes I could only imagine it would be 20x more difficult in watercolour than oil. I can't remember if I even had phone signal. 😱Oh my goodness that's crazy rattlesnakes are super poisonous right? I'm glad you were able to get medical help and were ok and have now recovered. That's really scary. hahaha I definitely won't trim flowers especially not after your story. Thanks so much Nancy 😊 I'm usually pretty cautious if there's snakes we have a lot of deadly ones over here!
