I love how you’re venturing into more and more subject matter out of your comfort zone. It’s seems like you’re hitting another level with your art; you’re breaking into new territory. Also, the wisdom about improvement is top notch. Thanks for letting us join you on your journey. So cool to share in that. As far as the painting goes, it’s lovely and I think your analysis is right on. Just a few more touches and the charm will become evident. Sometimes it takes me a couple weeks to warm up to a “failed painting.” Thanks again, Michael!

Thankyou for saying you no longer look for improvement and just get out there ,show up and paint. I’m having a hard time learning to Plein aire. I keep kicking myself because I haven’t seen any improvement!😳 But I keep showing up and working. Thanks for the encouragement! ☮️

Love hearing your back and forth thought process while you’re painting. It’s captivating to watch the progress you make regardless of the outcome. Your art and life advice intertwine perfectly. Great content - nurturing, informative, entertaining and a bit goofy 🙃

I’ve watched several of your videos and you are now an expert surfer in my opinion! Your thoughts on the importance of showing up and doing the darn thing, whatever it is, hit home today. The beautiful day was enjoyable to see. I liked the camaraderie with the other painters. You were very encouraging to others. You’ve provided a lot of other artist Instagram accounts to follow too. Bonus. Thanks for sharing! Peace and love...Suz What 🌻🌼🌻🌼

Hey, I disagree about the face masks-we in San Francisco are still wearing them, thank god. I think the three of them were in an isolated area together and lowered their masks, but they had them!

Thanks for a great video. Really love the surfing and the food!! Loved your colour palette again and the buildings are great - IMO don’t need any more details or touching up. Sea and distance gorgeous colours. Only bit I didn’t get was the bottom left, but then I’m not familiar with the cityscape. Big brushes and great colours. Wonderful! Jill R, 🇬🇧

wow they are all great paintings ! I was able to buy large tube of titanium white last time that I went shopping for paint, but I can only get small tubes of the other colors, I use a lot of titanium white, pthalo blue, ultramarine blue , Prussian blue, as I paint a lot of seascapes, it was great to finally get a large tube of titanium white, only a painter would understand LOL

In the Santa Cruz mountains there's a redwood forest call Big basin. On the way up there's a sign that says China Grove. A friend of mine parents own five acres up there. He said when he was young he could hear the Doobie Brothers practicing. Plus I did love your painting of course. You should drive up there sometime. Big Basin is awesome

Love the different interpretations of this scene. btw I'm curious about Marta's and Carole's palette box. It looks like a Masterson but it appears to have a divider so brushes can be placed. Is it a Masterson or is it something else? I can't seem to locate it anywhere on the internet. Thanks!
@chamberlainpaintings2 жыл бұрын
Hmm.. not sure what they’re using!
@Purpleiris4442 жыл бұрын
@@chamberlainpaintings thanks! I've messaged Carole and she told me it's a Masterson with the yellow top. Found it on Amazon. The smallest Masterson sized to fit a 9x12 glass palette from New Wave. And in place of the cups, I removed them and will use it to carry brushes.

It's an embarrassment of riches living where you live. So many subjects and so many ways to piant them. Of course, there are subjects everywhere, you've just got to know what you like and have at it. I like what you did to simplify what looks like a complicated scene. Raising the horizon was a good idea. Nice piece Michael.
