@turnervinson4 жыл бұрын
yes, yes I understand! I did actually just shoot a demo style video, talking my way through the painting process. When I decided to try and make a video every week, I knew that I needed to be able to do it in the simplest way possible (for my sanity!!). So it nice for me to be able to just focus on the painting, and not always trying to explain what I'm doing. But, of course, I also want to do that as well. So there will certainly some variety. thanks for watching, Cat 🙏🙏

@@turnervinsonAnd it's going to stay that way until you stop using the brush like a pencil. It's a painting, not a sketch. But fair play to you. You didn't get emotional about my rather harsh critique. And for anyone else reading this,,, you should take as much time mixing the right colour as you spend with the brush on the canvas. AND STOP DABBING!,,,,,,
@turnervinson4 жыл бұрын
but I like to dab, lol. Hey, it’s perfect okay for you to not like what I do ✌🏻.
@louisabridge4 жыл бұрын
What's at the heart of this is easy to see. You have to start blocking in. Not because of the finished painting but the execution of it. You have to slow down. You have to expend all that initial energy , all of the swordplay, all of the big strokes!. Then after the blocking in, put the claymore down and start with the Foyle,, Focus on the task. What and how are you going to make the kill shot. Remember you won't get another chance. You only have two strokes,, how will you make it count? Look,, sure you can paint fast. That's the whole idea. It make sense. But like a good carpenter you know how to drive the nail home. You use good practice and you take care of your tools. Your paintings are alright, and I would gladly hang one in my livingroom. But then that would leave me only imagining how much sweeter they might be if you improved your delivery. Here might I say that any post modernist can go F themselves. If you don't give any credit to painting as a skill, then you have no right to expect your opinion to be given any credence. And anyone who thinks that i'm out of order and should never say boo-hoo things,,, Turner here has published. Therefore by definition he must be open to all opinion. My gut feeling is that this man is a man. And being such a man would feel insulted by being treated as a child. Painting attracts hippies like moths to a light. They are painful. All of that "positive energy" makes me want to run my face into a brick wall.
@louisabridge4 жыл бұрын
@@turnervinson Hey, your right and wrong. You threw your big brush style at the little fellas. That's never going to end well. As I sad below, some of your other work is fine. I'd hang it. You got a lot of the right stuff. But you can't have a mushed brush, with a balled lump of brown muck, and tell me that's good practice. That it's intentional and that the painting will be better because of it. It's not, It's won't and frankly,, it's lazy. And again,, before all you woke happy police out there, this is from one painter to another, like one carpenter to another or one diamond cutter to another,, and most importantly, one man to another,, we're all big boys here. At the end of the day it's about the painting, not the painter.
