I think dreads look NICER on good looking people like yourself. Even though you have dreads and a beard that isn’t neatly trimmed you still look clean and pull them of nicely. I’ve seen people with dreads and a beard such as yours yet somehow they don’t look so hygienic. So I think a good looking face and good skin helps pull off the look.

So... I was really sick for a while and was not really able to take care of myself/hair and I used to have a whole head of dreads but I decided to only keep 3 of them bc I have really thin hair and I had those for 14 Years and well.... When I was sick my hair all kinda pulled* itself together and formed a huge matte of very embarrassing blob and it makes me so self conscious and makes me hate myself tbh.... What can I do.... I have very thin blonde hair and I do not like short hair. My whole life it has been long and would I not be able to pull off anything short nor do I want to but... BUT I know beggers can't be choosers and here I am.... Not even able to wear* it down I just wrap my remaining dreads around the mass of bullshit that is now my hair. Does anyone know if it sounds like it may be possible to remove without me losing most of my hair?? This may sound petty as fuck but it really brings down the quality of my life bc I just feel so nasty and ridiculous every time I'm out or even feel it. From sleeping on it and just continuing to ignore it and wrap with my old long dreads it got so bad and I honestly, I didn't even realize how bad it had become until it was too late. Basically................ I NEED HELP. If anyone in or around the Youngstown, ohio/Cleveland area can help, you'd be a GODSEND. sorry this is so long Much love everyone.

I've always wondered what this was. I am Mexican/Scottish/Hungarian/Native American all things that have given me fine but thick hair, I have had dreads for a few years and when I do my roots I have to pull some dreads apart as they begin to like one another and want to form a dread together. This beaver tail thing has always been one of my fears because I just thought the individual had given up. Although I personally wouldn't do this I do have way more respect for it now that I understand the history and process. I regret and repent for being judgemental of this style. Thanks for explaining this!!

The first dreadlocked hair I had ever seen were on white people and the TRUTH of dreadlocked hair is that it's NEVER to touch the ground. Most of the people I knew actually washed their hair daily'so the 'myth' of uncleanliness comes from the homeless population that do not have daily access to what we take for granted when we can shower and clean ourselves. Bless up and give thanks for ALL that you have.👆
