A short documentary filmed during my time as a volunteer for the Orangutan Foundation UK in Borneo, Indonesia last year.

They absolutely have to stop tearing down the ancient forests. Those precious few miles of pristine forests are absolutely integral to the survival of this planet. There are so many plants that grow only there. We could never replicate that perfectly balanced ecosystem. The rain forests of Borneo and Sumatra are over 13 million years old. They can replant trees and create new forests for the animals to live in as well as replant trees for the timber industry but we cannot stand by and allow those ancient, untouched forests to be destroyed.

Like I'm supposed to take advice on morality from some over privileged blonde bimbo from the UK? You people are so full of BS with your extinction lies!! Go back to the UK and worry about UK problems. Indonesia is not your country and not your concern. These people have the right to do what they please with their resources. I'm sure their economic opportunity is a threat to you and your neo Colonist values but guess what! Your queen is dead and these people are free to do what they please. I hope they deport every one of you and soon!!!

Great video. You need to get this on TV. Have you considered sending it to various media networks, for free-use? It's unfortunate the majority of people are unaware of not only the hardships of the people of different countries but the animals and environment. It's all apart of the ecosystem and we need to ensure the survival of all elements that keep the system in balance. Not doing so, only stresses other systems. Sometimes small changes, make HUGE differences. There's only ONE EARTH.

I love orangs. Never want anything to happen to them. This is a hypothetical science question(s). If something catastrophic happened and they became extinct how would that negatively impact humans? Like we lose many species both known and unknown die off each year. How have those extinctions negatively impacted humans? With the probably 10's of thousands of species that died of b4 and during early humans rise. How did those extinctions negatively impact humans? Thanks 4 reading and hopefully responding. Cheers.
