To me, this is one of the greatest songs ever. It’s perfect in every way.

This was a first time for me too, I've heard of him but never gotten around to listening to anything. 8:44 was my exact reaction too. Excellent video, Jim!

@@JimNewstead Check out David Maxim Micic - Who bit The Moon (song) for more instrumental goodness. In some ways similar to this, but still so different and unique! They toured together!

Nice tô ser Plini getting more and more recognition over the years.. I first listened to Atlas and was completley blown away! And about him being this independent musician, he's such an inspiration for me, as I'm trying to record my first songs and do it independently! One other musician I listened to these days as a KZbin recommendation on a Plini video (and liked a lot) is David Maxim Micic!

Your reaction to this is the best reaction. You have to listen to Plini - Cascade if you love this one.

I suggested Smile a few comments above, but in general I see DMM is not recognised everywhere :) Mbinguni Amina is awesome too, has a more opera feel indeed but hearing it after Smile amazed me how much of Micic you recognise and is uniquem

Please react to Within Temptation, they are one of the best symphonic metal bands but have had quite a few different styles over the years. Well, subbed. Hm - if you liked Plini, you should check out "Arch Echo" as well as "Sithu Aye". First is an independent Prog-Band from the US and second is a solo-musician from Scotland. All three share a somewhat similar approach in their music-style.

damn that are some talented musicians. I would love if they do stuff like Ayreon. Like getting several awesome vocalists for albums. But even without vocals thats really really good music! I love it

You should make a reaction video for Sun Caged - Ashtamangla (The 8 auspicious symbols). They are a prog metal band and this particular song had a huge influence on me when I first heard it. Also check out DGM - The Secret.

Just found your channel, you're listening to all my favourites! :D Plini is so great, all his stuff is just brilliant. Check out Who Bit The Moon (the song, but honestly, the whole album) from David Maxim Micic! Saw them play together one time - one of the best nights of my life :)

Nicely done. This ones my favorite. AAL are tremendously talented, but for me personally, I find Plini more musical, and melodic, plus there is an actual bassist....so more to my liking....

Epic song. If you like this stuff you should really do some Animals As Leaders if you havnt heard them before. They're kinda the grand masters and innovators of this new wave of instrumental prog/fusion/metal/djent. Also speaking of Innovators, please add Dillinger Escape Plan to your list!

They are excellent musicians and the songs are diverse and solidly their own style. Every song is a new flavor.

AAL and Plini don't really sound the same. AAL are much heavier and more technical- Plini is more accessible and (IMO) enjoyable.

So, I was just waiting for a video to do a recommendation to you... And Plini fits my suggestion. A lot of stuff you post is in my almost daily playlist as well but one is missing: David Maxim Micic. His Bilo 3.0 album is full on youtube but just pick a song... Bilo is a great getting to know DMM. Just check the youtube comments on it. Hope you enjoy as well. Get high expectations :)

It's not that I don't like this music but I just find a lot of these instrumental prog/djent bands sound to similar to each other. I can't sit through a whole album, the lack of vocals just makes it difficult for me.
@mvunit36 жыл бұрын
1st time for me as well :). Right off the bat loved the "melody" with all the layers of legato and leads. But . . . I was getting into the bands that came before the "Djent" scene (or before that "title") like; Canvas Solaris, Continuo Renacer, Gordian Knot, Koyaanisqatsy, Bulb, A((wake)), Exivious, Behold... The Arctopus, Chimp Spanner, Cloudkicker, Blotted Science etc. so its hard not to hear that "sound". But this was good, again nice melodies.
