My 5 year old autistic daughter is Plini's biggest fan. Last summer when I was driving her to daycare, I put on Electric Sunrise and she got very zen. As the summer went on, my NON-VERBAL daughter started singing the guitar melodies on that song. No long after, I showed her the whole album and she ate it up! If I tried to put something else on (like Dream Theater) she would throw a fit, screaming and crying until she got her Plini. She has memorized nearly every melody on Handmade Cities! She even claps to that part in the song Handmade Cities (about a minute in) where they layered every other snare hit with a sampled hand clap sound. This experience was huge to me because my daughter is autistic, so connecting with her can be very hard. But now, we have a serious connection thanks the Plini. I'm a guitar player (25+ years) and music is incredibly important to me. Bonding over music with my daughter was truly a gift. There's something special about the energy and emotion on that album that resonated with my baby girl. Very uplifting and inspiring. I love your music Plini! Keep sharing those beautiful songs with the world.

What a crazy power music has. Your story sounds so lovely, wholesome and flattering. Have a great one rocking (or zenning) out to Plini with your little one! ❤️

Wesley, I can totally relate to your situation and understand the joy of your daughter discovering the magic powers of music, most importantly connecting with a musician as proudly talented/gifted as Plini. He truly is a next level musician, his melody and finesse is inspiring! My son is 8 years old and has autism also. He was ultra sensory in his first few years and being a musician myself for 30+ years and having a deep love for music, it was so sad that anything I played to my son caused him great distress and discomfort, regardless of how calm or gentle the music I played to him.... until I played Moving Pictures by Rush one day and he sat quietly throughout the whole album. I played it a second time and he was transfixed. He was 2 at the time. For some reason, he connected with the band Rush and slowly we worked through their catalogue of albums. They are still his go-to band 6 years later but he now listens to other artists and other genres of music which is a blessing. Music is another world of beauty and for a child on the spectrum to resonate with it, that’s a gift they have. You’ll probably find your daughter memorizes Plini’s melodies perfectly The thing that blow me away about my son is his ability to memorize the most complex melodies and passages and hum or sing them pitch perfect. The thing about Plini is he makes it all look so easy, regardless of how complex or fast, he flows on those Strandbergs with the ease of breathing.

I know nothing about plini but for some reason listening to song after song is like hearing the band tell you how things have been going, hearing stories about their families, having a laugh in-between, and then stunned by intelligence in a breakdown, and then casually acting modest as not to boast as a song resolves back to the riff. such a trip

All those subtle additions and nuances you’ve added in the play-through are suburb! You make playing flow as easy as breathing Plini. Your balance of space and minimalism when it comes to you melodies among the occasional shred moments is utter perfection. That contrast is just another dimension that makes your music standout from many of the other next level instrumentalist virtuoso guitarists in this scene.
