Limey the Elder - bravo, a stroke of genius on the naming front there lads! I'd give you a big hand but you've got that covered ;) Shame it was DOA I hope you give it another go. Interesting hop substitutions, I'd love to see a take on this with NZ/Aus hops. Out of interest why aerate the wort going into the fermenter?

Limey will rise again, don’t you worry! I think we’ll probably brew it in Jan. Wort aeration helps the yeast fully attenuate and helps avoid off flavours and unwanted esters early on. It also assists the yeast by helping growth and reproduction. Sounds like you need a pig tail in your life :)

@@BrewBrosUK Ah thanks for letting me know. I hear oxygen and my gut reaction is oh no that's bad for beer! I think my wort gets plenty of oxygen as I fill my bucket from the kettle's tap with a bit of height so it gets fairly bubbly while it fills. I'll keep that in mind if I upgrade my setup though!

Your calculations must be off? When you use the recipe from the magazine and adjust for a 19L/5gallon batch size after boiling, it works out spot on?

Yeah Ed got something wrong and misread batch size or got confused over imperial vs metric 🙄 He's been punished. Thankfully his 40L batch came out bang on OG and FG so it wasn't too severe. Thanks for watching!
