Thanks so much for covering being a minority coach in lacrosse. I love coaching it, but there is always that initial barrier every season with new players and coaching staff where they do not take me seriously at all. Just have to do work, show up earlier than they do, establish better relationships with your players, and always be open to learn. Always remember - They wont care how much you know, until they know how much you care. Thanks for this video.

As a mom of a black lacrosse player who is 8 this conversation is necessary and so grateful I was brought to this video! My son just made his first club team and he is the only black player on the team. I implement a lot of what was expressed here. I love that he can see men and women that look like him playing the sport!

pretending like they aren’t people of color won’t change a damn thing. life is not the same for non-white people, there are prejudices and challenges they face in the United States that white people will never comprehend. if you listened properly to this video you would understand, but maybe you’re more comfortable with your ignorance?
