In this video I will be going through my top list of the best houses in Morrowind. From quest houses, to Great Council Strongholds, to stealing houses the old fashioned way; these are the best of the best Morrowind Houses in my book!

My favorite "house" is the Balmora Council Club. The Legion gives you a quest to kill all of the Cammona Tong guys inside, and the Legion pays the bounty off after you're done. The Council Club has beds and shelving, and it's right next to the silt strider. You can get it at Level 1 if you buy enough scrolls of Dratha's Winter Guest to shoot the place up.

In a evil playthrough the whole of morrowind is your house XD. The reason why this is still my fave elder scrolls is there is very little limitations unlike skyrim immortal npcs.

Hlormaren, it's an old Dunmer stronghold right outside Balmora and it also has a propylon chamber for fast travel needs. All you need to do is kill some squatters and you have the entire place to store your gear. I sometimes roleplay and use console commands to put gaurds of whatever great house or faction I'm currently the Highest rank in to make it feel like I'm retaking the place.

actually the corpse is a selling point surprisingly lol Since the body is permanent (doesn't disappear after time like normal corpses) you can use it as a storage container without it disappearing. This is important, because corpses do not have a weight limit for storage- you can infinitely store items in a corpse.

@@PTMG and using most of the random chests and stuff in people houses in this game can get your loot marked as stolen when you remove it, the corpse still works fine though and its one of the only corpses that never despawns

I love Hlaalo Manor, and if you open the command prompt, click on something, type "disable" and it will disappear like the mess upstairs can be completely cleaned. Also, I disabled the servant in the bedroom so I can sleep in there as well. You can disable the dead body on the first floor if you don't care about using it for infinite storage space. Because there are also commands to create and place whatever you want in-game. I made multiple crates in the space to the left of the dining area. I use it for my HQ and cast mark there to return when needed. it's also conveniently located near all the shops and guilds, too.

@@GammaFields you can do it even without console. All you need is a command humanoid spell or enchantment. Cast it on a desired npc and let him follow you to the interior of your choice. It will take some time, but in theory you can gather all the silt strider riders in one interior, for example. Or even every fast travel npc in the game, making it the ultimate fast travel room with a mark spell on it.

There's a Fighters Guild Quest that sends you to kill Dura-gara Bol. Or something similar. She owns the house with the tower across from the stilt strider in Balmora. That's the one I claim. It has a table, chairs, a shelf, upstairs has crates and storage. It's a really good house to use early on.

Fun fact, the two strongholds that belong to the houses that you don't join upgrade during the questline (even after you kill the owners). You can just wipe out the randos living there and BOOM second or third house. Just drop in some NPCs that belong to your house into the ones that you're not using and they can be sleeper cells trying to sabotage your enemies.

In Ald'ruhn, you don't have to kill anyone. If you convince Ienas Sarandas to give back everything and join the Tribunal Temple, he just leaves his house and now you can use it yourself. There's also a Sixth House cultist in Ald'ruhn, and you're free to kill them and take the house and no one will even bat an eyelash. I also like caves. Ashanammu is a cave right near the Caldera Mining Company, close enough to the Caldera Mages Guild for teleporting and The Creeper. You have to clear it out in an early Fighters Guild quest, and then, you're free to use the place. There's another cave further west, Kudanat, which has slavers, is a little bigger, and a little better appointed, that you could use as well. Finally, there are Dunmer strongholds. Andasreth is a personal favorite, as there won't be any respawning monsters in that one (except for a rat in a closet space that you can just keep shut and forget about). If you've got the Master Index add-on, then you've got a whole new network you can use for fast travel, but otherwise the strongholds can be somewhat distant from the action. But hey, more space for you, then.

First time I played I was doing the rat clearance fighters guild quest in Balmora and the owner attacked me as soon as I drew my sword to kill the rat in her bedroom, had to kill her but inherited her house, lots of storage upstairs, just get rid of all the pillows. Fighters guild picked up that she was dead but didn’t care. Ever since every play through I always take her house as it also has a riverside location.

I used command huminod on Fargoth and locked his ass up in a jail in the basement of a house in Caldara i think the town was ... it was epic there was this lil house and no one would suspect but that lil bugger was locked up good I had left him scraps of food and used the lock spell. From time to time id drink and do skooma and strike him many of time ( only hand to hand to knock him down not kill him though as he was my prisoner ) anyone else got out of line and hurt my argonian feelings would get locked up with him as well. command huminod was sooo fun plus buying the slavs lol to cool.

Ya man it was so fun. My friend was laughing so hard. Out of all the people to catpure and lock up in the jail I picked Fargoth haha. Would love to lock up the Dren family as they are harsh cruel slave owners. I think I had healing spells to keep them alive intell I get them there. Was a long long time ago but Iv never done the main quest in the game so im going to play it again. Argonian with spear I love it. SHAME that the other elder scrolls games dont have spears !@@PTMG

@@PTMG Its great fun! I reorganized the whole of balmora and surroundings, making different themed houses full of people. Some unique named enemys reside along the river. On the upper plaza, there is a house full of people that hate me and also one full of freed slaves. Oh, and the ghostgate guard chambers with about 40 guards packed into one room! Took some time and effort, but looks great! They also make a decent army if you manage to cast command on them as a whole.

Tamriel Rebuilt has some great houses. I took over one of the manor's in Old Ebonheart. The person who owns it only has one related quest, so once I did that I just got rid of her and took over the house. Three floors (four if you include the basement), and lots of storage and shelves to store your things, and it just looks great

You can have an official fort built and given to you. So you don't have to steal homes, but if you want one from the beginning then yes you will need to.

I live in Ahnassi's house in pelagiad. Ahnassi stays at the in and her actual house is decorated really nice . Plus with a mark spell you can fast travel there. Surane Leoriane's house in Caldera is a Great choice as well .

i always break into tsiyas house the first house from the strider and return her skooma pipe and collect all the moonsugar and skooma and display it everywhere and then move in with her. she doesnt care if you steal her stuff because you bring skooma.

Imperial Legion Fortresses make great bases, Moonmoth my preferred choice, but Pelagiad is a good one as there is no other reason to go there . Reasons: 1. You get a castle as your base, which works especially well if you are RP'ing as Legion. They are open spaces, perfect for display's etc. Have merchants, healers, etc that you can use as personal vendors and set up with ingredients, etc. You have personal guards (Umbra as a guard is da ultimate). You can use DI to teleport to your base. But main reason, is that Legion Forts are not a big part of the game, so using it as a base integrates them into the game. Con is you need to be Legion to use beds. Tribunal Temples also make useful bases for similar reasons. AI for teleport, Personal Vendors, etc. Tip: drag a mages guild fast travel to your base for extra transport options. There are loads of neat places, the main factors to consider are Fast Travel options, a bed, some storage and weather (if you hate ask storms), which generally means, the Council Club in Balamory is default numero uno location.

You can be in 2 Great houses btw , just as long as you select telvanni or redoran and complete either of those , you can get in hlaalu free , just never select hlaalu first, fun fact from an OG player 👍🏼❤️

If you don't want to kill anyone, you can use a command humanoid spell/scroll to lead them outside. Did this with Clagius in Balmora and could still sell to him, though did lose his inventory. Relocating Creeper to the mages guild is also useful using this method, especially if you an alchemy money printer. Guy looks so funny on that little pedastal thing I think the devs intended for it to happen. You can just spam ingredients from Ajira and turn around and sell straight to Creeper without having to worry about encumberance.

Balmora I kept my stuff outside mages and fighters guild in the boxes the first hundred hours. Now I keep my stuff in the Hilalu Storage in Vivic. Has a bed. A shrine to Me. A shine to Almsivi. 20 boxes or so. Almsivi goes to vivic high fane. Devine goes to Ebonheart. It's Perfect!! The perfect Neverine house.

Came for the real estate guide, stayed for the "why not kill 'em all? Think about it!" casual pyschopath problem solving manifesto. Best video on Morrowind housing of all time, loved it. My personal fav house was for a wandering monk (a low gear unarmored hand-to-hand build). I just took the renter room in End-Of-The-World in remote Dagon Fel to the North. Unlike other taverns nobody rents the room out, and once the level 15 door is unlocked it's free to use with nobody wandering. Even battered the local Nord necromancer to death so the small talk among the local Nords would be more welcoming in a "hey, I remember you, you dealt with that creep, thanks!" way instead of always groaning always about the scum tourist. For any other character the location would absolutely suck (few traders, no mage guild guide transport), but it fits for a nomad.

With the telvani it's so fun decorating the center vibe spirals with all the rarest weapons and scrolls, with the right shiny enchanted mods it makes it look like you power the growth of the mushroom with the radiant magic of your hoard of artifacts.

Factor's Estate in Raven Rock is my choice. Mid way through the main quest I go to Solstiem and do the East Empire Company quests. All of them are quite easy even at low-mid level except the Spriggan quest but you can get around it with the sujamma exploit. After that I set a mark spell and use it as a storage haven for the rest of the game. :D

@@PTMG True. Spriggans are crazy powerful but still the sujamma exploit is insane, you can kill Vivec at level 1 by drinking 60 to 80 sujamma. I've done the spriggans quest a few times mid level. It just requires a lot of sujamma and a ton of patience to drink all of them one by one.

For Balmora I find the best home is the upstairs of the Outfitter shop next door to the Pawnbroker. The merchant never moves from his store downstairs so the upstairs is 100% free to use and its in a prime spot between the Siltstrider and Pawnbroker with easy access from the outdoor stairs. It's a convinient place to drop off items and sleep between adventures.

I like being based in Caldera, theres a guy with little backstory/quest relevance in the house next to the mages guild whose house you can pretty much kill off easy peasy. Also, theres that woman in Caldera who gets exiled for stealing an heirloom or something. Either way, its very handy being based across the street from Creature.

Caldera is a great little town I guess really you could just have the entire Ghorak Manor and just live with the scamp trader I honestly kill all the orcs in there half the time anyway just to sell their shit to the scamp trader lol Then not only could you have your mark set to your house, it would also be set to the scamp trader

@@PTMG I'm late to the game here, but yes, Ghorak Manor is the best place to live because of your dealer Creeper and a decent amount of storage space. What puts it over the top is the fact that Divine Intervention will take you to Fort Buckmoth near Ald'ruhn and Intervention takes you to Balmora. This, along with Mark nd Recall, is as close as you can get to Fast Travel in Morrowind.

I like to kinda nest into tel naga in sardrith mora. There is a bed owned by an unimporrant NPC halfway up to Neloth's room who you can easily kill. The reception area wi4h many tables is my show room for the artifacts I collect. Free Real estate.

Great video, I am getting the itch to jump back in. Tel Uvirith FTW. One can be a true Telvanni Magister. Kill all the mage guild personnel except the teleporters. And get your spellcrafting from House Telvanni or the Temple. Or kill a Telvanni Mage lord and appropriate his house (which is allowed by Telvanni creed that Might is Right). Also your Mouth, Fast Eddie leaves his house in Balmora to serve you in Sadrith Mora ;) BTW I could be wrong but I think that blightstorms stop after you finish the main story. Generally though, not having NPCs for flair or services in your house makes it bland, so killing everyone isn't the best idea. There is more to houses than storage containers and location. Lastly, one can just add a house mod for himself, there are hundreds.

The raven rock houses are nice, but are also semi end-game technically (you can do it at any level but bloodmoon is a high level place) But also the half floor thing kinda pisses me off. Id rather have a whole second floor than just a lofted bedroom

Right away in the beginning I take the shack of the guy the killed the tax man. It's convenient. I keep taking the place next door to Caius after a quest, when you can just choose to kill the evil guy (he's a evil slayer). It's convenient too.

@@PTMG Once I start playing again, I'm going to be on the hunt for a house with a cooking pot, a hutch, and blue lighting. Honestly, The Mages Guild in Ald'Ruhn is a good example of what I'm looking for, though it lacks hutches and cooking pots. They have some nice planters with arrangements of Coda Flowers and Luminous Russulas + blue lighting. ...if I knew how to use the construction set, I could make my own custom house. Maybe someone ought to release a tutorial?

I've actually been meaning to make a construction set tutorial for a while but both keep forgetting, and also the construction set isn't as readily available as it used to be it seems i know there are plenty of blue lit lanterns/candles around vvardenfell and you can in fact use those to alter the lighting in any building I think there is also red lit lights as well
