Do 18 months and released to abuse more kids . I sometimes fail to understand parents who don't ask their children how their day was and actually listen , not just to the words but body language .Parents are supposed to know their children better than anybody else . This episode is based on an incident on the real-life The Jenny Jones Show when a man confessed on the air that he had a crush on his male neighbor who was told a secret admirer would confess this crush on the show. The man was so embarrassed that he killed the gay secret admirer. In the final analysis, the killer might be closeted gay himself to explain why he would take his revenge in so far as murder. Is it possible that The Jenny Jones Show people knew this and were baiting him to come out on air to get a double surprise? I don't know why some people want their deeply private matters be shown in public. When dealing with such raw emotions, people can react in so many unpredictable irrational ways. Basically they played with fire and got burned badly.

"Oh, don't dump this on me. I put him in therapy, you put him in a murder trial." Pretty good point. Quite honestly, everything about that dad says he's a grown bully whose solution for most things is his fists and blaming everyone else but himself, and I doubt that came just from the molestation incident. @@Star-dj1kwThat's not a good point. There shouldn't be more ads on a clip of an episode than the actual episode.

Who remembers the early to mid 90s with smut TV? Springer, Rickey Lake, Sally, Maury, Jenny Jones and MORE. At the same time reality TV was starting in a different way with Real World on MTV. Something about the kids acting felt more natural (like it matters). Slower, deliberate... like he would be medicated - which makes sense.

So a Gary Plauché incident facilitated by Dr. Phil. Interesting they had to add on the last part because if it was just a dad capping his son's abuser after he got a slap on the wrist, then yeah, no jury would convict him.

Do they really have programmes like that on US TV? 18 months for sexually abusing 7 kids and then appearing on TV with his victims and writing a book ffs! I mean I know this is a TV show but it must be based in some kind of reality. Surely this cannot be indicative of US TV?

No, it is not. Plus, in America a criminal can not profit from his crime(s). So, the book thing would not be allowed.

I always wonder that in US shows. But since all of them do it, there must be something to it? Like how possible suspects in the news always get called by full name or those shots from helicopters of takedowns etc. Like...in Germany, none of that would happen. At "worst", suspects get called by their first name, but nothing more. And kids in particular are so much protected, there aren't even visitors allowed during trial, not to mention the media
