Serious question: How do you work the sod down? Multiple disk passes?
@839Unipicker4 жыл бұрын
1 pass with the heavy disk, then one with the roller harrow angled 30 degrees or so across the field one way, then again with the roller harrow angled 30 degrees across from the other side of the field.

It’s been over 20 years since I plowed with my 2700. Been all no-till ever since. Even though I would never plow again it does bring back memories from the 70’s and 80’s.

That fresh dirt looks great. Bet the smell is sweet .The 4430 is playing with the plow!!

Spring plowing sod makes for a tough seed bed preparation. I would have sprayed it with Roundup, waited a few days, disked it then plowed it. It would burned the roots off, loosened the soil from the sod roots and have also let the soil dry a bit to keep your speed up and encourage the soil to turn over completely. Looks like the plow needs to be leveled when in the furrow, the first bottom seems deeper than the rest. Good luck with the replacement crop.

I'm not sure if you are bleading your tail wheel correctly. I ran a plow like that and on the mechanism that steers there is a bolt with a spring. You raise the plow all the way up and turn hard to the right so the bolt with the spring pushes the button on the mechanism. Do not move the tractor simply lower the back of the plow with the button pushed in and hold the lever until the wheel is straightened out where you want it
