Great video just had a U2105 engine control module code show up on a Zafira 1.8 petrol automatic Can I just swap the Ecu for another and the transponder chips from the keys or would the ecu need reprogramming Thsnks

I'm think that ECU don't need reprograming if is taken from the same car model.

I have the same year and model vehicle. I keep getting the p170 fault code. I replaced the engine control unit and the problem persists.

IMHO You have one or more faulty components in fuel intake circuit (fuel filter/fuel pressure regulator/air mass meter). Fuel mixture isn't good (by specifications) so ECU show that fault code. Also You can visually check hoses and cables and see if some of those is damaged or leaking air. Anyhow You will probably need someone with diagnostic tool which read sensor values of those suspect components, determin which value is wrong (out of specifications) and replace it if needed. Check here.. "If you read the OBD-II fault code P0170 on one of the different Vauxhall models, then the fuel injection values are outside of the manufacturer’s specifications. Symptoms for fault code P0170 (Vauxhall) A deviation in the fuel-air ratio causes the engine not to run at optimal performance. It can cause a loss in engine power. The engine can have problems starting in certain cases and sometimes idle rpm will be irregular. If the fault is not repaired it could cause damage to the catalytic converter. Therefore, in many cases the engine management light on the instrument panel will illuminate when the P0170 fault is triggered. Causes of the fault code P0170 The fault code P0170 can be caused by parts like the fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator or the air mass meter. The adaptive values in the ECU are adjusted so far that they will be outside of the normal parameters. Another cause can be a defective ECU. Especially the Simtec-71 Series combined with the 1.8 litre (Z18XE) engine that is used by Vauxhall is known for creating an internal fault. Hi Vedran, I have just swapped out a dead ECU in a Corsa 1.2 Easytronic, I did similar to you as in the ECU, The BCM, The Airbag module in the centre console, the Light/Indicator stalks and the Ignition and door lock barrel and the Transponder ring... It actually took a lot less time than you think (excepting removing the steering wheel which was a b***h) Can you or anyone else answer this for me... do I need to hook up Tech2 or OpComm to "reprogram" the gears on my Corsa or will they set themselves in the corse of running? Having completed the job, I needed a new battery and I am reluctant to drive it until I have the above answer clarified. Thanks for now

Hi Gary! You can't just replace old ECU with "new" without programming. I bought refurbrished and programmed kit (ECU, immobilizator and transponder keys). Seller ( www.ecustogo.co.uk/ ) ask me just VIN number and they made all programming before shipping. I'm not familiar with programming process. I was skeptical but all started working OK from first attempt.😅

Ne...firma iz UK gdje je kupljeno traži samo VIN broj vozila i oni sve naprave što treba. Dakle ugradi i vozi princip.

@@ayhan8137 Koliko ja znam ne jer ECU, imobilizator paljenja na kontakt bravi i transponderski čipovi u dva ključa su nedjeljiva cijelina.

@@fire2hr da to razumijem, znaci ako ecu, brava cip za kljuc uzmem, znaci komplet djelove, dali mora kodirati za moje auto napr unijeti novi vin br itd itd

@@ayhan8137 Da napisao sam ti...ta firma traži samo da im pošalješ VIN broj svoga auta i onda u paketu dobiješ sve programirani ECU, imobilizator za bravu i 2 transponderska čipa koje si jednostavno zamjeniš na ključu.
