I almost cried at work today when this song was playing and almost all 24 kids were singing along. I work at Hope House which takes in kids whose adoptive families couldn't handle them anymore. Most will never go home. For some reason hearing them sing this made my heart ache.

It's because... Everyone is lovable and able to give love. Because we let circumstances weigh us down, opinion, other stuff... than enduring or choosing love. You might be feeling a higher form of empathy... You don't know exactly how they feel but in their song you can feel the pain in their hearts. Words have power to them. A band of kids all going through the same thing connecting to a song like this that they all relate to is going to move someone hearing it. They need love, support, and guidance. This is the work of a Christian. It's not about us. Many people like those kids there... Need Jesus in their lives. Many people... Stuck wandering.. Slaves to sin carrying around weight that hurts others and themselves... People lost having no idea about anything... Not knowing... They are condemned. You know what's amazing? Knowing Jesus... Those kids might have a hard time here... But He will NEVER abandon them. Ever. By allowing Christ to be in your heart... You are pretty much adopted by God... And He is perfect in all things.. And they have a forever home.

The setiments that are spoken about in this song are the same that made my family leave the church we were attending when our youngest child cane out as transgender. We were told the church accepts people the way they are but that they have to supress their "feelings." Huh? What? If the church accepts, why make them into something they are not? The core tenent of the teaching if Jesus is that "whoever believes in Him will see eternal life." I never thought their was an asterisk and footnote there.

This song reminds me of my son's adoptive parents. I had to find out through social media that he had committed suicide just over a month ago. How anyone can be so cruel and PURPOSELY exclude me from knowing he passed as well as his funeral I'll never understand. How "Christian" people can do so without a second thought is not Christ like; its hateful, hurtful and vindictive. SMH..

@ Erica Desiree I am a birth mother of a 20 year old. I also have 3 younger children with my husband. I can't imagine what this news did to you. I'm so sorry. I am truly grieving for you. I don't know you but I wish I could hug you.
@aaronlanier2039 жыл бұрын
Erica Desiree I am so sorry to hear about his passing... That's so heartbreaking. So many Christians spend so much time talking about how people are sinning, yet it is their hatred that leads these "sinners" to harming themselves. I feel people like that need to take a look in the mirror and say "which one of us is truly the sinner here?" I am so sorry to hear about your loss. :/ Thank you for sharing your story.

+Bridgette Burns...Being a true Christian SHOULD change a person--that's what the whole sanctification process is all about. Yes, we're human too but are also responsible for striving to follow Christ, and when we sometimes fail in that, it's how we handle our failings that can still be Christ-like :)

@@displeasingkiller It actually makes sense if you think about it! There are plenty of Christians in the LGBTQ community, and while I'm not religious anymore myself, being religious and queer is the first thing I thought of upon hearing this song. "Why am I unlovable to you? Why do you use Jesus to justify this hatred when he, in fact, loved people who were different, the people whom everyone else ostracized?" Heck, Jesus himself went through it. I did indeed listen to the song in it's entirety, and I can definitely understand the original commenter's interpretation, it was the exact same as mine. It's not gonna be everyone's, and that's okay. c:

@@catboyrights As a Christian who is bi I get what you're saying and agree. I've had so many people tell me they'd go to church if Christians were more like me and lived what Jesus taught like I try to do. I have friends who started reading Bible verses and stories I've shared because they know I'm not preaching at them and how I care for others hve made my friends want to double check the stories I've mentioned to them, like the old testament story of one of thebold testament prophets who was being made fun of by some kids and he prayed to God and a beat came and ate the kids. My friend found their family Bible and read a it and then saw some other things she had no idea were in the Bible and was tickped pink at some of the strangeness she learned is in the Bible. 😂😂😂. People overlook the fact that Jesus never once mentioned homosexuality, and called EVERYONE to follow him and never said what gender, race, sexual orientation, there were no stipulations. One of the first converts to Christianity was a eunich. I know LGBTQ people who are Christians and on fire for God, like myself. Jesus works through many people and my non Christian friends wish more fake Christians were more genuine like I am because I accept people like Jesus accepted them.
