My grandfather and his family (siblings and sibling-in-laws) did exactly that and built my mom's entire childhood home from salvageable parts of houses they were hired to tear down at the time.

I'm commenting very late but my friend just bought a house and the old owner was a builder / contractor and you can tell he did this with the bathroom. Two walls are one tile (green), one wall is the same tile in a different colour (peach), and one wall is half tiled in a third tile (white), and the rest of the wall is painted, and the floor is black. It's something else!

One thing I admire about Jessie is that she seems to struggle every video, but she *always* pushes through, and in the end she makes it work, it all turns out fine, and she ends up loving the end result. Even if it was completely unexpected or something she wouldn't have tried before. I'm more of the 'just give up' type, but she challenges her anxieties. I think that's one thing I can take away and learn from her... Feel the stress, push through it, and it will all work out okay in the end. Sometimes you might even find something new that you love that you wouldn't have tried before! Thanks Jessie 💕 You're a treasure

Can you do the opposite of this challenge? Basically, whenever you need to use an item, you must use the SAME one that you used for another part of the house, but you may change the swatch. (P.S, that means that ALL walls on the outside and inside will be the same, all beds will be the same, all paintings will be the same etc.)

A better challenge would be use items only once but use a random number generator to choose the item, since the items are in a grid they can be counted. Then the house needs to be for 8 individual sims, have a living room with fireplace and bookshelves but no TV, great place to sit and read a book or sit with friends and chat over drinks. Then a TV and game room. A workshop room with various workbenches. An art room for painting and sculpting types of activities, a complete bar room with tables and other stuff you might find in one, a music room, and finally a home gym... that's the entertainment rooms. Atleast 4 restrooms, each sim has a bedroom, kitchen with breakfast nook, dining room for 8, and a laundry room. Changing the swatches is use the number that chose the item, first number if it was double digits and if it is still more than there are swatches for the item use the last one. Once done let the sims free and hands off to see if they die or not in the first week.

I think the only difficult thing is actually the walls, because I feel like no one actually has a house like sims do, where everything matches perfectly. We find a piece we like here, and then a chair from there, and mix and match. Eclectic houses are some of my favorites, because they looked lived in, most likely by a sim who loves thrifting and goes to the flea market every weekend.

What if you did a build challenge that was like..you can only use x amount of objects from a pack- for example, you take every pack (including bg ofc) and you can only use, for example, 3 objects per every pack- wall tiles being by wall and floor tiles being by room. So you could put down 3 things from..cottage living for instance, and then you can't use anything else from that pack, and you have to move onto another. It would be a lot of managing how many more objects you can use from each pack, but I feel like it could be a really weird but fun challenge. Also, I totally get the anxiety thing, dw we run as a pack of anxious messes but that just makes us cooler :)

Sooo the roof is kinda wild, but sometimes irl you see roofs with two separate roof colors/types on them. Usually it's because the one side is renting and needed roof repairs, and was told they had to pay for it themselves, so they will only do the part that covers their part of house

You should make a build challenge like every room is a theme/ budget or whatever and then live through a Sims challenge like 100 babies/whatever in that house. You can't change the house once it's done but you can buy more items (just can't remove them again) no additional rooms or anything Idk haven't seen it before and since the Sims is only fun if it's hard, maybe it'll actually be sth fun to do xD

If you're ever feeling like you're at an uncomfortable point in life, just think about a lobster. A lobster's shell doesn't grow, so it has to break out of it as it gets bigger. Though, the process of growing out of its shell is really uncomfortable, and yet it still continues to go on. Take inspiration from a lobster-- the only way to grow is to be uncomfortable and under pressure.
