Hundreds of amazing games potentially lost to time due to being exclusive to dead consoles and companies refusing to rerelease them... and THIS is one of few that DID get a rerelease. Just... why? And now I'm so glad the first proper visual novel I've played is Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney. Also, something I'm surprised wasn't mentioned: in quite a few stills, you can see our lead John, who I remind you is a plumber, wearing a tie. In a game called PLUMBERS DON'T WEAR TIES! THE GAME'S OWN TITLE IS A BALD FACED LIE!!! DID THIS GAME DO ANYTHING RIGHT?!

I think ironically terrible games do have a following. I highly doubt the rights to get games like this are very expensive either, so they probably don't really need to sell many copies of these "Definitive" editions to recoup costs.

Me wanting great single player focused games like: Aliens Vs Predator 2, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, The Punisher, The Chronicles of Riddick Escape From Butcher's Bay and Dark Athena, The Darkness to get rereleased/remastered. Game industry, nah to all of those. Here's a remaster for freakin Plumbers Don't Wear Ties! Can't even get Snatcher or Policenauts rereleased. At least their finally releasing an official English version of the original Clock Tower.

I like how back then, they made the adamant suggestion to "put away those baby toys," meaning the SNES and the Genesis. Despite me being 40 now, I would gladly take those "baby toys" over the 3DO any day. Just having a few decent games for it doesn't justify paying over $700 or better for the console. Especially when sometimes you needed to get certain peripherals or components just to PLAY those games. Not to mention, the controller hook up was very weird itself.

And then the PS1 absolutely destroyed 3DO in terms of console sales numbers. Only two 3DO games I was interested in are Space Hulk Vengence of The Blood Angels and Alone In The Dark 1. Space Hulk got a PS1 release. I don't think Alone In The Dark 1 did, but it is easily found on Steam or GOG today.

@johnbakasmoothhotchocolate, The real console war for the 5th gen was between PS1, N64, and Sega Saturn. PS1 beat all of them. The smartest thing 3DO did was to go 3rd party. I actually liked some of their Army Men games, especially the two Sarge's Heroes games.

Can we mark this as the definitive low point in gaming? It's one thing that this -- I struggle to even call it a game -- was ever even made, but the fact that someone decided to re-release this thing on modern consoles -- and charge 20 bucks for it -- is beyond surreal. This is the equivalent of someone peddling unedited copies of Mein Kampf or Daisy's Destruction.

Yup. She lived a four-hour drive away, so I was driving every few weekends to go see her, and after a year I obviously wanted her to meet my family. We found a train leading from her backyard to mine, I even offered to bring her as my date to my best friend's wedding a mere hour away from her... could not get her to budge one foot outside her home town. But then she ran off to Canada for over a month because one of her sisters needed help with her kids during a school break. During that month she refused to phone call or video chat with me one single time and eventually stopped texting me altogether. By the time she got back it was pretty crystal clear where I stood with her. And then the last time I saw her face-to-face she asked for a promise ring. Sometime after that was when she yelled at me for not understanding why she couldn't travel because her diabetes could kill her at any moment and I pretty much knew she was never going to change.

Is it really appropriate to call this thing a "movie" if nothing "moves?" I think a more appropriate term would be "stillvie." Also, according to GoodBadFlicks, this game was made by the creators because they had a camera and equipment, so they basically did it just for shits and giggles and the infamous outtake left in was intentional to keep with the tongue-in-cheek feel the creators were going for.

The incredible difference is it actually plays well. Yes they tried to make it you could use the “classic” control scheme with that dodgy translation of keyboard up to Jump to Dpad up to jump (yes that’s exactly why many games did that, devs thought that was the norm at the time…until it only made sense in fighting games naturally)

Well, there's this game called 428 Shibuya Scramble. It only uses text, still photos, and music to tell a story. But that game is actually good unlike Plumbers. It's well-written, the characters are interesting and is also able to convey emotions using only screenshots, and choices do actually matters.
