Hi a lot of plumbers and drainers in Australia have to use coloured pvc primer which is red for the primer and glue which is blue so inspectors can see the joint has been glued. A lot of em tape the 2 bottles together along with a 400 mm long 40 or 50mm pvc pipe in the centre as a carry handle. Recently in a nearby suburb one of these glue units fell out of a tradies ute on a major intersection. Some bright spark called the police and said there was a bomb on the side of the road, well 4 hours later after traffic chaos and the bomb sqaud it was declared safe and Vic Pol got to do some free huffing.
@MJTiffPlumbing2 жыл бұрын
That’s brilliant…. And to be honest a great way to see if joints have been glued👌🏼

Hiya , as always a fantastic insight into ur day , thank u , hope u don’t mind me adding also useto be a heating engineer / plumber for over 30 x years until I wrecked my back , ( “ as u do, 🤣 “ ) , so could instantly see the first rate level of pride and professionalism u undertake on each and every job, makes u stand out by always going that extra mile , as a side note useto be great fun when I needed to fit 50mm waste pipe at the back of the units, plus a nightmare when some plastic pipe manufacturers wouldn’t fit or some would simply break into pieces , apologises as before I forget I done a few snowmelt systems and were extremely enjoyable , imagine u would also really like that with all the UFH manifolds etc , thanks again , stay safe and have a great week

When you buy a house, how many folks get a drain survey? I’ve never. The standard “structural survey” has never been adequate. I’m finding whenever I get anything”fitted” that involves water or electricity, I’m having to Google how it really “should be done” as you just cannot blindly “trust” folk. Cannot.

Different plumbing over there. Looks like thin wall pvc. Then a tee on it back. A tubular trap on a cloths washer. All big no nos in the USA. Worst is the tee on it back. No direction of flow There’s a few other things that is not allowed to here

@@MJTiffPlumbing a snake can not determine direction of flow. I understand. From what I saw That it can be snaked from kitchen and snake will go in direction. Not being mean. Had a fun washing machine piping error myself about a year ago. Pipe was overflowing at the top. So I go about cleaning the trap (completely gunked up) and the pipe appeared full too, but it was old (10+ years), so it could be anything. Long story short, the entire drain pipe was sloped backwards and I ended up replacing about 10 meters of pipe, chiseling out a new hole in the wall. Took me two days sweating in cramped attic corners, because it had to be in the most impossible corner of my house......

I hate modern washers as far as testing is concerned. Many of them, in order to be efficient, base the amount of water on the weight of clothes. When it’s empty and you’re trying to test this means you can’t fill it without a bunch of clothes. I wish they’d put a test button in this case.

Top job mark you have probably saved the back end of the house from collapsing. Washing machine traps are the way to go them multi traps are the devils work, kitchen sink u bend gets blocked with fat and gunk and the water goes down the washing machine waste. They should be banned Here's a top tip you may already know, some washing machines are a pain to get out so get an old broom handle cut it in half lift the front of the machine and slide them under, you can then roll the machine out without damaging the floor.
@MJTiffPlumbing2 жыл бұрын

With the pipe that you put the washing machine outlet into, it looks as though you just put the outlet into it and left it? Is there not a risk of it overflowing when the washing machine drains at the end (i realise thats why its so long)? Could you have put a spigot into that pipe, 3/4 up then capped the top off to completely seal it? Im not having a pop,i just wondered if wahat you did was enough, and what im suggesting is overkill?
