Mark, just wish all plumbers were like you. Last one I had managed to get the sink to fill up the washing machine when the sink drained. Isolation valves and insulating feed pipes seem to be not required. Keep up the good work - this country needs people like you

Nice, After many years of unblocking sinks , I have for a long time just used compression waste fittings within the cupboard , yes they are a bit bulkier but maintenance is so much easier .

I feel your frustration on a micro bore F and E system .I am not a pro but not bad and have drained our system several times to put extra rads on the flow and return and replace recently a motorised valve.They can be a pig to refill and chase air out.This 8 and 10 mm pipe on the tails I dont think anyone uses anymore.Its just a ball ache for flow.On one part of the extension I went up to 15mm and they are the hottest rads on the system and never need bleeding off.The 1980,s was a piss pot decade for building.

Nice work mark tidy job on them rads, been there when I can't get the water to stop on heating. What I do on heating if you need to stick valves on to isolate it are lever ball valves, just take the handles off them. I can't work out who done that lash up under that sink, a kitchen fitter or a plumber but you have shown a bit of thought and it can be made tidy. Thanks for the video 👍

I had a friend that needed a value changed on her kitchen taps but it was not shutting off properly i mangaged to work it free so it did shut of .but wasnt able to get value out i feared stripping the nut and making the problem worse.

Brilliant video Mark and under that sink looked like a dogs dinner so that’s the thing it’s not fair that you have to redo someone else’s makeshift attempt at plumbing cos you’ve your own work to get on without I’d do the same just something genetically inherent that you can’t help yourself. Nice re-work of the sink drain. Here in Canada, the trap (and trap arm) would need to be much lower (after the trap, the drain should slope at 1/4"/foot until it reaches the vent connection, which presumably is in the wall behind the sink) to meet code and avoid the risk of syphoning the trap. Not a UK requirement?

Sometimes I use my tape measure to prop up a bit of pipe or a fitting. Extend it so it’s touching it and just lock the tape 👍

Quooker taps have a fitting that the installer screws into the waste pipe to connect the blow off onto…… when removing you cap it off with a 15mm Speedfit cap 👍🏼👍🏼

I carry 3 small tins of car spray paint in the van , black , grey and white which come in very handy for touching up and spraying those kind of brackets before fitting.....👍

Are you not supposed to cut the bar down so the fitting grips goes inside the rad onto the back columns? That is what I have done in the past. Then you can’t see the fixing.
