Even though it may be pretty cramped, especially at the top end, it is great that you have access to anywhere in the house from underfloor. There will always be something you will be wanting to add in the future, more power points, rj45, audio cables etc etc so really good that you have access to everywhere

+Michael Collinson very true. it's not really that cramped I just gave it a little more drama for special effect haha. I will likely want to run some internet cable at some point.

This is so smart! If you knew how many times I have had to to tell homeowners that we have to access their plumbing through their concrete floors to repair it and the price they would have to pay because the plumbing is in the concrete 😳😳😳. I’m about to start the process of building my home and I know whatever this is, I think it’s a crawl space, I want it. I don’t want anyone to have to destroy my floors in order to access my plumbing ever.

This is a great outline. If you ever get serious clogs or major leaks, it will be easy for you to get to.

Neato! Oh BTW you ought to straighten up the moisture barrier (black plastic sheets) while you are down there (neatness counts ha ha ha). Waste lines normally drop 1/4" for every foot of run to ensure they have a positive drain action, but can be sloped as much as 3" per foot of run and still move the solids without liquid run-by; or else it must be a vertical segment. Will the plumber be adding the service hatch/cover/manhole to the septic tank so that your required 2-5 year service by a honey-wagon can be done?

To save time, effort, and money down south, almost all new construction is done on slab foundations. Really not fun when you have a plumbing issue or need to add a new fixture. That being said, yours looks well thought out with easy access and straight forward plumbing, pretty cool! Looks like you have plenty of room for storage under there should you so choose.

+redamaleki my grader made the suggestion to add 2 more blocks to the foundation. I think 3 blocks was min. My grandmother has a home with slab foundation and they have had issues with flooding. There is plenty of room under there for fixing stuff.

When you buy a mobile home do they have to have the pvc lines under installed or do I have to bought a used mobile home 21st mortage but I know when hauling a mobile home can't have nothing under so they cut it but are the pvc , a/c ducting hot cold water lines suppose to come with the purchase or it comes out my pocket ?

What kind of winter time temps do you get Seth? If you get too cold, the exposed pipes underneath in the crawl space could freeze up on you although drains are not so prone to freezing as water supply lines. Any traps under there with standing water in them could freeze. Most likely, the plumbers know what they are doing so don't listen to me.
@LandtoHouse8 жыл бұрын
+Dennis Dubois it gets cold but does not stay cold that long. They said to close the vents in late fall and we should be good. Time will tell :)
@DennisDuboisLifeview8 жыл бұрын
That should do it Seth. What state are you located in?
@LandtoHouse8 жыл бұрын
+Dennis Dubois we are in the upper elevation of North Carolina.

I was hoping you would identify the vent pipe. Is there one that goes up to the roof?
@LandtoHouse5 жыл бұрын
I know that the sinks have a vent in them. As for the vent thru the roof. I am not sure. I will have to check. I should assume there is one.

A dishwasher's drain commonly connects to the kitchen sink drain, that's why there's only one drain pipe coming down from the kitchen.
@LandtoHouse8 жыл бұрын
+tallman11282 thank you that is correct. I remembered that right after I finished filming and did not feel like we shooting the video. :)

plumbing--a job with perspective

It is a job a special kind of person. . . Not me. I like to work with ram pumps in the creek but not pipes in the house that can flood the entire thing.

Depends on the build. PVC and plex piping has become the go to material to keep costs down.

+Pan Roger Sc I suppose it depends on the location you live in. I don't mind though. It does give access for future improvements
