Why would the hot water be blocked if it was well sediment? Wouldn't the cold water line have a more direct flow than the hot and tend to have more sediment?

Those symmons valves seem pretty nice, they must be pretty common over there. As for the sediment. No tank type water heater that needs to be flushed?

Tim Short no the sand came from the well pump

Filter down stairs has nothing to do with that. See, the water heater is next to the washing machine. So the hot water goes from the heater to the washing machine. Water heaters build up calcium and scale from within which when they loosen up, those particles will clog up your components. Drain your heater and put a strainer to see what I'm referring to. Good luck.

My mother having problem with her washer the hot water side is clogging with random little debry, I suspect it is sediment from bottom of hot water heater. My uncle thinks it is from the well, but when I ask well shouldn't the cold side be clogged as well and he has no answer. If only hot side is whack I'm thinking hot water heater is source of problem.

@@MistaTofMaine Not sure how water from a well is treated but municipal water is treated with tons of chemicals to purify it. Eventually them chemicals settle in the water heater and eventually clogged it up. The cold water usually sends rust particles if it’s metal piping.

Get that problem on milk tank water valves, think its scale. I fit external Y strainers if they have a history of scaling up, easier to clean out.
@stevenlavimoniere10 жыл бұрын
heavydiesel this was sand for a well ..
@heavydiesel10 жыл бұрын
Oh right! seen that to with bore hole supplies, one place had a flood and it washed a load of dirt down the well, took ages to clean itself out.

$upreme repairs for $upreme Appliances.....At least the lady didn't go out and buy a new machine, those older ones are worth fixing compared to the new flimsy units. Do you think she has sand in the hot water lines/boiler that was never flushed out when the filter was installed?
@stevenlavimoniere10 жыл бұрын
Dwight Bennett the unit was blocked only on the hot side very strange

Those old rubber hoses are an accident waiting to happen! Most homeowners don't realize they should replace the hoses every 4-5 years, or better yet, install the braided hoses like you did. Water damage is the #1 claim on homeowners insurance.
@stevenlavimoniere10 жыл бұрын
Brad1237202 yes most homeowners do not know about the hose change out i always try to upgrade the hoses when i see them .. some will some will not .. but i warn then
