On one hand I was very lucky to be building the Bystial Runick deck before Josh won... On the other hand it's definitely less of a sleeper and has a lot more eyes on it so I think I'll be building Plunder Runick as well to mix things up at locals. Great job on the content dude, your plunder videos have really helped me out with previous plunder builds.

I've been playing my own variant of Josh's build in MD and been loving it so much that I wanted to build at least something similar in paper. New financial requirements this year though definitely hindered my ability to go for the full Runick Bystials build, and have been looking for something to scratch that itch. I've also been looking for an excuse to play the silly little pirate trolls. What a wonderfully convenient compromise. Thanks for this!

Going second enemy contoller is also really good at removing hugin and protect it from being negated. Side 3x rivarly for the lock with the token

I would also think of playing red beard at 2 to be honest. The point of summoning it off of Whitebeard in your opponents turn really helps the grind game. One is not always nearly enough to keep it up for multiple turns. (I’ve lost to sky striker as well as manadium just cause I played one and wasn’t able to extend after turn 2 of mine)

I played plunder runick in all 2023, and after agov I started to use also gen e Ken (3 ,1, 45 card main deck) and they are awesome in this deck, since you fill gy, draw 2 , trigger talent and give a light to your opponent

My current plunder runick list is very similar, I just don't run the TTT duo and the forbidden droplet trio , besides that in the extra at link 2 I use a bagooska or munin

You can also play the incredible ecclesia the virtuous and the golden swordsoul instead of quem and cartesia

I have a similar build for Runick Plunder but I have Imperm instead of Talents. Might consider adding Talents instead.

hey i don't play Ny MasterDuel currently but I appreciate you checking out the video! I realize master duel has some Runick cards limited but the combos should be the same, just maybe less consistent

@@phantomsygo Yes, Konami limited Runick cards in MD because people were creating toxic Runick Stun in the Duelist CUP, which is the most important tournament in the game and get a place for the World Championship. Thanks bro

Thoughts on cutting one Geri to add an Almiraj? It would go great with golden hair, as well as synergize with SP. I’m also considering adding a Bahamut + Toadally instead of Coral + Baronne. Any views on which one is better? Toadally seems easier to make to be honest

Almiraj is good, but doesn’t come up nearly as often as Geri. You needed almiraj in old plunder bc you lacked extenders so golden hair being 1.5 card combo was the best you could do. With every runick basically being a free lvl 2 or 4 non tuner, the hands where you need almiraj almost never come up and it’s much better to turn them into a coral dragon for extra draws or a geri to go into jord easily. Bahamut is good, but the runick lines with coral are better. Baronne is harder to make without bystial, but coral comes up 8/10 games. You want 2 runick and a tuner in this build. The goal of the package isn’t to put up baronne. You go activate runick summon hug, add fountain, normal a plunder tuner, synch for coral, if you started white you would have to chain your second runick to gy effect, then synch the second hug and the coral into jord, draw from coral, and set up a Blackbeard play. This also plays around nib bc you can always get a gold in gy, so if the nib you, you summon the gold from gy and use the gold and nib token for another black

@@collingarrison4467that makes total sense. I’m still trying to understand why Geri is important enough to keep 2 of, though. Besides the fountain revive effect, it doesn’t seem to do much. Almiraj would give me an easy access to SP comparatively and trigger it’s banish effect on summon as well. If I’m going second, it could be a decent enough board breaker

Coral isnt there for barronne, coral is also there for any tuner plus two runick spells to go through a tuner and hugin to get fountain plus coral, and then a second hugin to make jord

I’m not sure which one is better, i think it depends on the format honestly. Right now probably runick is better. I would certainly make room for S:P in both versions

Gen and ken are the best for those non engine slots. Giving them a light and drawing 2 and discarding a plunder or runick is just stupid in this version of plunder particularly.

Instead of Talents & Droplet (which are still very good) could you play a small bystial package in the main? I feel like Chengying would also be good in this build

Man i been playing plunder runick and i don’t know I mean don’t get me wrong but if you don’t draw the tuners (White and GoldenH) it feels odd even tho you have 6 normal summons and in others decklists they only have 3 with Queem and they always draw it so i’m like what?. And also needing the plunders in hand for amo for the ships feels the deck very fair against the other decks I mean is my opinion i like the deck but i don’t know probably i don’t know how to shuffle the deck):

I don’t know what i need to do to draw the tuners 😭 in theory you can do a lot of things, but in irl it happens like your video of test hands that you never draw the tuners i don’t know if i need to pump the field up to 3 even tho is searchable :/

@@castllanos_ikeryou could play three rainbow bridge of salvation with one crystal beast cobalt eagle, discard rainbow off of hugin to search shipyard with a free discard

No you're so right, the deck does nothing if you don't draw the tuners, I'm wondering if maybe running 3 field spell and then also munin and AFD to get fountain in rotation

Instead of running 3 field spell go 2 and a terraforming, to either fetch fountain or shipyard as needed

Ash when one of the ships like Moerk or when Lys uses its effect. It stops the effect and stops from replacing the plunder names in hand for ammo. And then the usual runick stuff to hit, like negating hugin and banishing fountain
